Friday Five – Trend: Lace

Hello Everyone!
Today I am starting a new series on trends. I realized when looking through my wardrobe, that I am a big fan of the whole lace, eyelet, broderie trend. I was actually choosing items for a completely different shoot (leather jacket 5 ways), when I ditched the whole plan because I was totally inspired by these spring trend pieces. They are easy to style, while being showstoppers with eye-catching details. Here are my top 5 pieces in my wardrobe currently.

Friday Five – Pink!

Hello Everyone!
As I was gathering some items to put together a favorites post, I realized a common theme: Pink! Thus said, this week’s Friday Five is composed of all things pink. *Swoon*
I had to talk about these first because, they truly are my new loves. I mean, what is not to love about these gorgeous shoes? They are two toned featuring leather and suede, and the gold chain detail is divine. I also love that they are backless for a more casual feel. They can be the perfect pop of color to a more neutral look, and also the perfect calm to a pattern-filled look. Let me know if you want to see how I would style them in an outfit.

This notepad is just so cute. Rifle Paper Co. has been a long time love of mine and never disappoints. I purchased this a few weeks ago, and it has been in constant use. I don’t know about you, but when things look as pretty in pink as this simple pad of paper does, I can’t help but use it! Recently, I have used this to make shopping lists, blog plans, packing lists, and to-do lists. I keep the bulk of it at my desk while taking a few pages with me in the pocket of my planner. So handy!

I got this Drink Up Lip Balm sample in my stocking this past Christmas, and have been using this loads recently. It’s just what I need on those “no makeup, makeup” days. It’s very juicy and hydrating while providing the perfect sheer shade of pink to my lips that looks both natural and healthy. There are 8 shades to choose from, but I have mine in the shade, Berry Splash.

As you all know, I’m soon to be an international woman with all of my upcoming overseas travel plans (If you missed it, find out where I’m headed here). I found this adorable passport holder that I immediately had to have seeing as though it is pink with the French phrase, “Bon Voyage” written in rose gold letters across the front. Not only is it practical by keeping my passport protected, it’s also oh so cute, making the wait to see this in action pure torture.

These pink gummy vitamins are a rather new find for me. I have never seen such a rapid change in the growth of my nails and hair than while I have been taking these. Amazing! Also, the 3 things I want boosted on a daily basis are precisely what these gummies target: energy, immune, and bone health. They are tasty and super easy to take. I look forward to them every morning.
Hope you guys had a great week and enjoyed this pink filled post.
Any fun weekend plans? Any suggestions on what you want to see in the future?
Thank you guys for your support and comments. They really mean the world to me. 🙂 xx

Friday Five – Springtime Essentials

Hello Everyone!
Happy Friday! Today I wanted to share five of my favorite springtime essentials. Spring is coming (so they say…even though it still definitely feels like it’s winter), and items like these are what get me excited about this transition. They are sure to put a spring in your step.
1. Transition Tops

Tops like this one from H&M, are the perfect way to stay on trend without breaking the bank. The sweater material says, “I’m so cozy”, while the ruffled cold shoulder feature says, “Bring on the sunshine and let’s play.” I love to pair this top with my favorite blue jeans and a chunky heel like these (also worn here), these, or something a bit more fun like these.
H&M is killing it with their transition tops this year. I wore this one recently to an event with what I call my “fancy pants” (unavailable, but similar here and here) and it was a hit! Some other favorites include this sparkly onethis classic black and white one, and this denim one. Grab them before they’re gone! They always sell out so fast.
2. Dainty Accessories
Springtime means ditching the big chunky scarves and reaching for lighter accenting details. I have recently purchased two necklaces that I am so in love with. This golden leaf one and my beloved half moon/horn one (also here) are my go-tos. You can’t go wrong with them seeing as though they go with almost anything. Essential to my spring wardrobe for. sure.
I bought this bandana last summer and wore it tied to my Madewell crossbody constantly. However, now I have found myself wanting to wear it as a scarf. It feels so Parisian and chic and effortless, I can’t wait to wear it more often. I also really want this blush one. Yes, please!
3. Fresh Flowers

What is springtime without fresh flowers around the house?! I am a sucker for flowers and have them throughout my house year round, but they seem even more essential, and a beautiful part of life in the spring. I know I’m spoiled, but my boyfriend brings me home a new batch of fresh flowers every Friday! How lucky am I? (Let me know if you guys want a weekly flower post or a flower arranging post!) Seeing bright blooms just makes me happy.
4. Bright Lips

Pink lips, whether they be matte or high shine, are my favorite in the spring. My lip look featured in these pictures is Melted Metal Macaroon, a slightly metallic liquid lipstick. It’s quite a bright pink, but a perfect pop of color with the right outfit. Another favorite of mine is in the shade Lust for Blush, (how fitting) and can be found at the drugstore. I am also obsessed with Buxom glosses for their high shine and minty freshness. My all-time favorite is Sophia, but I have recently fallen in love with the shade Lauren. I got it because it had my name, but it’s also gorgeous! It has a a peachy pink tint with blue reflects in it, which are sure to make your lips shine and your teeth look white.
5. The Leather Jacket

This leather jacket is easily one of the best articles of clothing I own. It’s extremely soft, worn in, and light weight while also being warm. I love pairing this with a more feminine look to give it a little edge. I like to save the tops for staying on trend, and let the layers keep the classic, timeless look. (Let me know if you guys want to see outfits styled with this leather jacket.)
I hope you guys enjoyed this week’s Friday Five and are as pumped about spring as I am.
What are your springtime essentials? xx

What I Wore – NYC Gala

Hello Everyone!
Last night I attended the Richmond Ballet’s NYC in RVA gala. They beautifully transformed our rehearsal studios into a New York City themed ballroom where we enjoyed wine, a delicious three-course meal, and an unforgettable night with some of the best people here in RVA. Each year I look forward to this black-tie event and have so much fun putting together just the right look, but this year, I got so excited that I bought my dress 5 months in advance!
My initial idea for this NYC themed evening was to wear either a white dress like this one or this one or a vibrant and colorful dress like this one or this one, but alas, this BCBG black peplum dress called out to me in the end.
I accessorized with a pair of big, gorgeous Oscar de la Renta earrings (similar here), a Kate Spade clutch, and these embellished cage heels (also worn here). It was actually quite warm outside, so instead of a coat, I wrapped up in this elegant pashmina. On my nails, I used two different Ciate polishes, Iced Frappe and Antique Brooch, I got from this set. (I highly recommend this set btw. It comes with so many colors while the polish and brushes are very good quality.) Lastly, my fragrance of choice was one of my favorites at the moment, Nirvana Rose which helped set the mood for the evening.

Friday Five – 5 Looks That Say, “Be Mine”

Hello Everyone!
Thank goodness it’s Friday! And not only Friday, but the Friday before Valentine’s Day! Whether you have a big date night planned, a Galentine’s party, or you just want to celebrate a happy Tuesday, you want to find an outfit that gives you confidence and makes you feel beautiful. For today’s Friday Five, I have put together five simple outfits that say,”Be mine.” I had so much fun picking these pieces out for you all. Hope you enjoy! xx

1. The Flirty Ballerina Skirt

This soft, feminine look is the epitome of ballerina chic. I first wanted to become a ballerina because of skirts just like this. I chose to pair it with a more structured white button down shirt and this cozy yet sophisticated brown faux fur stole. The silver pointy heels were just the icing on the cake. Wearing this outfit just makes you wanna twirl and embrace your girly side. #cantstopwontstop

2. The Glammed Up Cozy Sweater

This outfit is perfect for that effortless look that is nice, but also cozy enough to cuddle up with your Valentine. Grab your favorite comfy sweater, pair it with a simple pink satin skirt, and accessorize with a chunky necklace and a pair of timeless houndstooth kitten heels. This go-to outfit looks glamorous on everyone.

3. The Sexy Sheer Top

This look is ideal for those of you who want to “flaunt what you’ve got” in an elegant manner. For this outfit, I put a sheer top with this metallic silver midi skirt that provided just the right amount of shine and pizzazz. I am loving the whole block heel trend, so of course I chose these cream colored heels which were beautiful, yet simple enough to highlight the rest of my outfit. I added this navy faux fur collar for warmth and this bucket bag for a touch of blush (a Valentine’s Day must!) This look transitions perfectly from daytime to nighttime and definitely says, “Be mine.”

4. The Perfect Pink Dress

This look is best for an evening out with your Valentine or your Galentines. A satin dress like this is sure to make you shine, and draping a big black coat over your shoulders adds class and confidence to your outfit. I paired this look with these embellished t-strapped heels and a classic red lip.

5. The Classic Pop of Red

This outfit is the most casual of the five, but not lacking in romantic vibes. Simplicity is key with this ruffled topdeconstructed jean, and small Chanel cross body. I added a black and white wool coat and light pink faux fur collar  for extra layers, but the real star of the show are these red heels. They complete the look and set to mood for a day full of love.
