Finding The Perfect Tree

Finding The Perfect Tree

Quilted Jacket / Sweater / Scarf / Jeans / Boots / Bag

Hello Everyone!

Last Friday, Ben & I found our Christmas tree! This is a tradition we look forward to every year & this year is our 4th Christmas together. A live tree in the home is just magical. The scent alone feels like Christmas, much less the fact that we add lights & ornaments to it to make it sparkle & shine with cheer. But before we get to the decorations, it’s on to finding the perfect tree.

Finding The Perfect Tree

Finding The Perfect Tree

The things we look for in a perfect tree:

The right height – make sure you measure first!

A good fullness – not too skinny

An even & symmetrical shape

Soft pines – some are definitely softer than others…make sure you touch them.

Just the right amount of quirk. Maybe it has one extra long branch on the side, or the point at the top is crooked…those little things make it YOUR tree.

For Ben & I, we always go with a Frasier Fir. They are just the best in our opinion. (& we are in love with this Frasier Fir candle!)

Finding The Perfect Tree

Once we find the perfect tree, it’s time to take it home.

Now for the fun part…dressing it up!

But you’ll have to wait for that…Until then! xx

Holiday Home Fragrances

Holiday Home Fragrances

Hello Everyone!

Day 2 of Blogmas is here, & it’s filled with all the holiday fragrances I love this time year. I’ve been stocking up on Lush bath products & yummy candles in preparation for this joyful season. I know that a great fragrance has a way of totally calming me down in the midst of Christmas shopping & Nutcracker chaos, & Christmas candles are my absolute favorites! See which ones I’ve gathered this year & others I’m planning on adding to my collection.

I do the most damage at Lush this time of year, hands down. I love hot baths with great bath bombs, oils, or bubbles (or all of the above…) with a space heater going in the bathroom & a glass of red wine in hand. One product that I can’t go without is Christingle. This body conditioner leaves my skin feeling so smooth, but it’s really the scent that has me smitten.  The cooling mint is just perfection. I try so hard to ration this product so I can make it last year round…but I typically fail because it’s just so good!

Other seasonal Lush products I have purchased recently include the Golden Wonder bath bomb, the Christmas Sweater bath bomb, & the Tree D bath oil melt. I can’t wait to use them! (Probably all this next week…)

Seeing as though I will probably use all of the up quite soon, these are on my next list: the Christmas Eve bubble bar,  the Shoot For The Stars bath bomb, & the Thunder Snow bath bomb. I’ll keep you updated via my Instagram Stories.

Now for my Christmas candle collection!

I’m always drawn to the pine/Christmas tree scent in candles! I like to stock up on this fragrance from different companies. My favorites have to be Thymes Frasier Fir, Fresh Balsam, & Illume Balsam & Cedar. These candles burn constantly in my household so having backups is a must.

Bath & Body Works candles are some of my favorites as well! My go-tos are Sweater Weather, Leaves, Winter, & Marshmallow Fireside.

What are your favorite home fragrances this time of year? Do we share any of the same must haves?

Hope you’re having a great day & are enjoying Blogmas thus far! This is just the beginning!…

Skin Survival Guide For The Cold

Hello Everyone!

So it’s getting to be about that time again to add some extra moisture to your skincare routine. The cold weather is approaching (Yessss! Finally!), & the chilly air, unfortunately, does such a good job of drying out the skin. Clothes do most of the work by protecting the majority of our skin, but our face & hands take the biggest hit. I’ve gathered a haul of amazing products to help keep my skin glowing, plump, & moisturized no matter how cold it gets outside.

Glossier is such a cult favorite right now, & with good reason. These cruelty-free products are all about helping you have healthy, glowy skin you can be proud of. I particularly love that philosophy because up until about a year ago, I really hated my skin. So much so, that I got really into makeup so that I could cover it up really well. Now, I can happily say, I am starting to love my skin. I opt for a tinted moisturizer instead of a full coverage foundation on a daily basis, & I am not afraid to be seen without any makeup! I never thought I would see such a change in my skin, but I have, & it’s been life-changing. (Writing this post has got me thinking I should do a skin journey post…leave a comment below if that’s something you’re interested in!)

I’ve been putting these products to the test for a while now, & I can safely say that most of them are must-haves for the upcoming cold weather.

If you’re reading this, & you are a human, you need a balm dotcom (or 6). This is the gateway Glossier product, hands down. The flavors and tints are perfection, & they actually provide moisture. How many times have you bought a lip balm & wondered if it actually did anything for your lips? Like every single time? Yep, this product is not like that. They feel incredible, while looking effortless on the lips. The best part is, it’s also a universal salve. Not only can you use it on your lips, but on your cuticles & dry patches of your skin. These balms also make great presents & stocking stuffers. (Christmas is right around the corner!!!)

The Milky Jelly Cleanser is another Glossier favorite. It’s texture is unlike any other cleanser I’ve ever used. Exactly like it’s name, this jelly-like cleanser effortlessly takes off make-up & cleans your skin, all while somehow adding moisture to your face. At the moment, it’s my favorite in-shower cleanser, & the little moisture boost it provides is definitely going to help my skin survive the cold this season.

I use a combination of Super Glow & the Priming Moisture Rich every third day for my nightly skincare routine. I get a bit of the moisturizer, then add 3-4 drops of Super Glow to it & place it all over my face, neck & chest. You would not believe how dreamy this combination smells & feels right before heading off to bed! Not to mention how happy my skin is in the morning: fresh, plump, glowing, & ready to take on the day.

Lastly, for those days when your skin just looks tired & dehydrated, let the Moisturizing Moon Mask be your go-to. This mask is packed with ingredients to help tone, provide oxygen, & help to plump & rejuvenate the skin, while providing the extra moisture your skin needs. I know I will be reaching for this one all A/W long.

Thanks for stopping by & reading this post! If you liked it, let me know down below. In the comments, be sure to share the link to your blog so I can send some love your way too! 🙂
