I got a request to do a tutorial on this look, and I really like how it turned out! This is such a classic look: neutral eyes with a winged liner, bright red lips, and glowing cheeks. Of course, this simple look can be done so many ways, but this is my take on it! Hope you like it!
Before I put all of these gorgeous products on my face, I moisturized my skin with my Origins Ginzing Moisturizer and primed with my Jouer Anti-Blemish Matte Primer.
For foundation I used my favorite combo of Milani, L’Oreal, and Cover FX (for full explanation check out my previous tutorial) and concealed with my Maybelline Age Rewind concealer. I set my under eyes and t-zone with the banana powder from my ABH Contour Kit and the rest of my face with my Maybelline Fit Me powder. I shaped and filled in my brows using my L’Oreal Brow Stylist Definer and set them with my Benefit Gimme Brow.
Moving on to eyes, I wanted them to look very natural, but added a little bit of shadow for dimension. Since I am still so in love with my ABH Master Palette by Mario, I took the shade LULA, which is a soft taupe with an ultra matte finish, on a natural haired blending brush and very lightly blended that into my crease while focusing mostly on the outer portion. Then to add a little brightness to the lid, I patted the shade HOLLYWOOD, which is a metallic wheat gold with a satin finish, on my lid (below the crease) with my finger. I focused this color primarily on the inner portion of my lid.
Now for the fun/terrifying part…the winged liner.
There are soooo many tips and tricks on how to make the perfect wing, but this is how I like to do it. I started with the wing, or the flick. You can make this as long or as short as you want, I did mine longer this time for a more dramatic look. My tip is to continue the line of your lower lash line up towards the end of your brow.
Once I created the first line (using my Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper), I drew a line from the wing back to the center of my lash line.
Then all I had to do was fill in the wing and finish lining my eye.
Here’s the best part…
I did the best I could but it was ok that my lines weren’t smooth and perfect!
I took a matte black eyeshadow (any will do, I used one from my Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani palette) on a small angled definer brush, and smoothed over my entire line. This sets the liquid liner while also perfecting the line of my wing.
Then I curled my lashes and applied a generous layer of my Better Than Sex mascara.
I finished my face by applying my Butter Bronzer on the perimeter of my face, Sunburst to my cheek bones, tip of my nose, cupid’s bow, and inner corners of my eyes, and Luminoso to the apples of my cheeks. I think Luminoso is particularly perfect for this look. It’s a luminous peach toned blush that brings such a youthful glow to the face.
Before I started my lips, I made sure to use a lip scrub to exfoliate and prep my lips.
I then lined my lips with my Jordana liner in Sedona Red to create the perfect outline for my liquid lipstick.
I chose my ABH Liquid Lipstick in American Doll for this look because is it a stunning classic red. I applied this all over my lips staying in the lines I already created with my liner.
This could have been my final look (completed of course with my favorite Pure Bliss Setting Spray). It’s beautiful with natural glamour…
…that dramatic wing called for some dramatic lashes, am I right?!
I went with my Knockout lashes by House of Lashes to create a more rounded eye look in contrast to my winged liner.
I love this look! Hope you guys do too!
Perfect for the holiday season coming up as well!
