Just over a year ago, while I was in Italy, I made a vow to myself that I would live more colorfully. I wanted to learn to embrace & love every color, because seeing them all on display while on vacation made me so happy. It seemed to me that wearing more colors would therefore make me happier & maybe even that that joy would spread to those around me. You guys, I’m so happy to share that when looking back on posts from this past year that I have truly lived out a year of color. Scroll to see each color worn several times throughout the past year!
Now It’s Your Turn!
I’m definitely not finished with my color journey & I can’t wait to see what the coming year brings, but now I want to extend the challenge to all of you! I dare you to live colorfully. Explore some new colors this year by pairing them with colors you already know & love. Maybe you’re not ready for the whole rainbow, but start with one. Make an effort to incorporate one new color into your wardrobe over the next few months. I’d love to hear what colors you’re thinking about exploring! Comment down below which color or colors you want to explore more! If I have any helpful tips on them, I’ll share them with you!
Chicwish kindly gifted me this gorgeous cream embroidered dress with tie sleeves that I was so excited to style this summer. As I began playing around with it in my wardrobe, I realized that this dress can actually be worn in EVERY season! One dress to wear in all four seasons. Talk about versatility & definitely getting your money’s worth. See how I’ve styled this classic dress uniquely for each season of the the year.
Yep, this dress even works in winter! I threw this oversized burgundy roll neck sweater over my lovely cream dress & paired it with a few other burgundy accessories. Berets really do add so much warmth in the fall & winter months which is why I have so many colors to wear almost everyday! I wanted to add my check coat to add a bit of structure to the look & tie in with my black box bag that’s one of my winter staples. If you’re worried about being cold in the winter in just a dress, remember you can always add boots, tights, or even fleece leggings underneath!
Feeling very much like Blair in this outfit. Which Blair you might ask? Well, two of them actually, & both are fashion icons. The first being Blair Waldorf from one of the best shows ever, Gossip Girl. Her feminine, preppy style is nodded to in this look along with her go-to accessory: the headband. I had to shoot this look on steps because what queen of the upper east side doesn’t each lunch on the steps of the Met everyday?
The other beautiful Blair I’m referencing in this post is Blair Eadie, fellow blogger, designer, & creator of Atlantic-Pacific. She is one of the most fearless fashionistas I know. Her outfits are a work of art. & a source of endless inspiration. I’m drawn to her bold color mixing, her dramatic silhouettes, & her love of cat eye sunglasses (a favorite of mine as well). She always seems to make even her most flashy outfits look casual & totally wearable, somehow. One of the ways she does this is by pairing her looks with oxfords which is why I’ve done just that here. Such a fun & comfortable way to mix up a look & dress it down a bit.
The Best Dress To Invest In
This fun outfit inspired by the Blairs features my jacquard midi dress (seen here & here) from Chicwish. Let me tell you a little secret…a dress like this is the very best dress to invest in solely based on how versatile it is. As I continue to curate my wardrobe, I find that a classic sleeveless, crew neck dress is beyond valuable. It’s the perfect piece for both layering under & over. I’m loving layering different fun tops underneath, particularly ones with statement sleeves, high necks, & pussy bows (like the one I’m wearing). A silhouette like this also works perfectly with a belt added around the waist. Mrs. Maisel has given me major belt envy. (If you have not watched that show, you are missing out!) But honestly, next time you’re shopping & you see a dress with this shape, snatch it up! You’ll wear it, & re-style it constantly!

Time To Accessorize!
No look is ever complete without the proper accessories. These super sweet heart earrings are under $5 & make quite the statement. They would also be perfect for Valentine’s Day which is right around the corner. Another key piece to this look, which was mentioned before, is my burgundy headband. I’m so into this trend that’s making a comeback at the moment. A headband has a way of completing any outfit. (See some headband inspo here & here) To finish off my look, I added a super affordable pair of cat eye sunglasses, & a floral embroidered crossbody bag.

When you think of Paris, what comes to your mind? For me, it’s romance, effortless style, hours at the café down the street, & beautiful buildings everywhere. Even the word, Paris, has a dreamy feeling to it. This Valentine’s Day, why not pretend you’re in “The City Of Love” for the evening? Bring that Parisienne romance & effortless style wherever you will be spending Valentine’s Day this year. What kind of date will the pink & Parisienne valentine go on & what will she wear?
What She Wears
The pink & Parisienne valentine wears the most effortlessly chic item of clothing: the classic wrap dress. It’s pink, feminine, comfortable to wear, & universally flattering. A dress like this is perfect to wear out to eat since it does a great job of hiding any food babies one might acquire.
I imagine the couple going out to a jazz club for dinner, drinks, & incredible live music. They talk about their passions, people watch, & even get up & dance, if the music is just right. Once they’ve had their fill of people for the night, they stop for a sweet treat, which if she were me would be ice cream. They then return home for an evening of wine, French film watching (try Amélie), & romance.
For close to 10 years now, the idea of counting my blessings has been a very tangible concept for me. The ritual of writing down blessing by blessing & saying thanks for even the smallest of things is a process near & dear to my heart. Even though it’s a ritual I truly love, it’s something that quickly becomes forgotten during the hustle & bustle of everyday life. Then, my husband made a speech at our wedding (see it here) in which he mentioned that in that moment, on our wedding day, he found himself literally counting his blessings. Hearing him say that really sparked in me a desire to be better about making this small ritual of gratitude each day more of a priority. I’ve kept the same gratitude journal for the past 8 years & I’ve decided to read through it again & make more of an effort to keep it up.

I hope you all are having a lovely thanksgiving & are spending some great time with loved ones. Seeing as though this holiday season can be quite crazy & a bit “go, go, go”, I challenge you to remember to actively take the time to be thankful for the little things around you. Be beauty seekers. If you feel like you need a bit more inspiration on this topic of gratitude & beauty seeking, I highly recommend you read the book, One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp. I would even say it’s my very favorite book! A perfect easy read for this holiday season.
Fall brings about a sort of nostalgia for me. It takes me back to classic styles, traditional fall tones & a cross between Parisian & preppy style. It’s the chilly football games with friends, or the hot coffee on my morning commute in the City under the changing leaves. Fall means cozy, effortless, closeness, warmth, crisp air, joy, & romance. I want my clothes to embrace all of those things during this season & today I’m rounding up all of my favorite fall classics at the most affordable prices. There is something for everyone here. Let’s dive right into that classic feel.
I tried to stay under $50 in this round up, there are just a couple over but I had to still include them. These are all such gorgeous pieces, & if you hover over each picture, you can see the amazing price point they are at.
I actually own quite a few of these pieces. The picture of this navy & gold tweed skirt definitely doesn’t do it justice, but this has been in my wardrobe for over a year now, & is one of my fall favorites. Also, just purchased 2 new pairs of boots for the season (here & here) that are both under $45! Let me tell you, they are gorgeous! My green long sleeve dress (seen here) is under $25. You’ll be seeing this tweed jacket & this ruffled skirt here on the blog soon. Lastly, this super cute crossbody bag received so many compliments last season & I’m thrilled to see it around again.
