Who Is She?

For my final Valentine’s Day look, I wanted to share a more fancy & even a little bit sexy look with you. I wanted to shake up the typical fancy date night look & give it more of a vintage glamour feel. This look is for the bold romantic. She’s ready to step out on the town with her man for a night to remember. This glamorous lady takes charge & isn’t afraid of following her dreams or writing her destiny. The vintage glamour valentine craves adventure & finds inspiration around every corner.

What She Wears

This fierce lady wears a feminine lace midi dress in a vintage cream color. The midi length lace offsets the low cut top making this look sexy & sophisticated all at once. Her faux fur stole is a must on an occasion such as this. It’s the perfect item to keep her exposed skin warm on a chilly evening. For shoes, she opts for a statement heel in the same color as her dress for a more streamline look. She only wears drop pearl earrings & a single strand of pearls around her wrist for jewelry. This timeless look calls for simple makeup topped off with a vintage coral red lip.

The Date She Goes On

This couple is glammed up & ready for a romantic night out together. Their date night begins with an elegant dinner at one of the swankiest restaurants in town. They have reservations, of course, & enjoy their delicious meal over meaningful conversation & loving glances. This couple then finds the best live show to see on this special night. Maybe it’s the symphony, the opera, a broadway show, or even a ballet! (Richmond Ballet will be performing Cinderella this Valentine’s Day!) After an incredible performance, they slip into the speak easy they’ve heard so much about & enjoy fancy cocktails for the remainder of the night.

Floral Jumpsuit

Last weekend, I attended a magical, whimsical wedding of a dear friend of mine. There were ladies in fascinators, magic wands (the bride & groom were both big Harry Potter fans), dancing in the moonlight, & teapots overflowing with flowers everywhere. We drank Pimm’s Punch & ate delicious food to give us energy to boogie on the dance floor for hours. For a night like this, I knew only a very special outfit would do.

The Floral Jumpsuit

This was one of those pieces that the moment I saw it, I knew where I was going to wear it. This floral jumpsuit fit perfectly with the style & vibe of the wedding. It is tight & fitted in all the right places with wide legs making it oh-so comfortable. The tie waist cinches you in so it’s ultra flattering. You know I love florals for weddings if you’ve read my wedding guest post from a couple weeks ago.

This box clutch has been one of the best purchases I’ve made in the past year. It goes with everything & is so easy to hold & carry around.

I love these blue heels so much, that I also have them in pink! (See me wearing them here.) They are so comfortable and easy to wear. Perfect for this spring summer.

My Fascinator

I’m so in love with this fascinator, & I can’t believe that I made it! When I attended my friend’s bridal shower, we all made unique fascinators to wear to her wedding! How fun is that?! I definitely felt so fancy wearing this in my hair. Now I want to find other fun events to wear this? Maybe we should bring this trend over to America? What do you think? Would you wear a fascinator to an event? Try this one or this one.

What I’m Wearing

This Fabulous Dress // Box Clutch (sold out! similar here) // Heels (Last seen here) // Lipstick in shade Pineapple Express

I hear some of you might have a wedding you may be attending this summer…;)

But really, I have 2 other weddings besides my own wedding that I’m attending in the next couple of months, so I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect wedding guest look. Let me talk you through the do’s & the don’t’s for choosing what to wear to a wedding.

The Do’s

Do pay attention to the dress code. Make sure you take into consideration the venue & the time of day, but a good rule of thumb is that it’s better to be slightly overdressed than underdressed.

Do wear a small bag. It could be a clutch, a small crossbody, or a small handbag, but a small bag is chic choice.

Do find out what the colors are for the wedding. It’s always nice to be in the same color palette as the bridal party & decor. Wouldn’t want to show up in a lime green dress in a room full of lilac tones.

Do wear florals! Wedding always have flowers, so that’s one sure fire way you’ll fit right in.

Do wear something fun to dance in, whether that’s a floral jumpsuit or a maxi dress that flows with ease. I love a dress with a good twirl factor.

Wedding Guest Look

The Don’t’s

Don’t wear something that’s too revealing. It’s best to be respectful & let the bride shine on this day, plus you don’t want to be worrying about your outfit. Wear something that you can sit, eat, & most importantly, DANCE in.

Don’t wear white! Just don’t do it!

Don’t wear all black. This is a happy day, full of joy & newness. Not a funeral.

Don’t wear denim. Even the most casual weddings deserve a step up from your day to day jeans.

Don’t wear uncomfortable shoes, even if they’re fabulous. You won’t want to have to leave early because your feet can’t handle the dance floor anymore. Block heels are my go-to for comfort & style.

For the fashion lovers in your life, a pair of tassel earrings (like these or these) is a for sure winner. I’ve loved tassel earring for quite some time now, (thank you Oscar de la Renta) & I love how on trend they are this season. They are such a fun way to spice up an outfit. Also, you can’t go wrong with a classic beret or a neutral clutch.

For the beauty experts in your life, going with anything Charlotte Tilbury is a no brainer. This Beauty Icons set just dreamy & set at such a great price. My favorites at the moment are her Contour Wand & Light Wand. Who doesn’t love a good highlighter? & with the printed lips on this product, it’s sure to be a winning gift this Christmas. Want to splurge? Get the eyeshadow palette of the year: the Marc Jacobs Wild One Eye-Conic Eyeshadow Palette. Other great options include a Ciate mini polish, the Fresh Rose Hydration Heroes set, & the Jo Malone Peony & Blush Suede fragrance.
