My bridesmaids were literally rockstars. I was so thankful that everyone got to be there in Maine with me the entire week leading up to the wedding. They were such lifesavers. From helping with decorations to making me laugh & keeping me calm, I don’t know if I could have done it without these six ladies.

My Squad

Grace (MOH) – sister

Melissa (MOH) – friend & fellow dancer

Abby – my new sister-in-law

Caroline – sister

Ella – sister

Eri – friend & fellow dancer

I knew from the very beginning that I wanted my bridesmaids to be in unique yet cohesive dresses. When I started my search on BHLDN immediately after finding my dress, I took screenshots of all of my favorites. I wanted to make sure that the textures of each dress were different. All of the dresses I chose were in the blush, gold, rose gold, & nude range which kept a cohesive theme throughout. It was also important to me that the level of sparkle was different for each dress. These factors were key, in my opinion, to making the mix & match style work.

In my head, I had already imagined each of my ladies in specific styles that I thought would suit them best, but I wanted them to love their dress, so I sent them all of the choices & you’ll never believe what happened. They all chose the dresses I had imagined them in! It was a wedding miracle.

Being the control freak that I am, I arranged for my bridesmaids along with both of the mothers to have a dress rehearsal two days before the wedding. This was not only for me to be able to finally see all of the dresses together, but also so that they could ask me any questions they wanted to about hair & makeup at that time rather than on the day of the wedding. Since we were all going to be doing our own hair & makeup on the day, I first demonstrated on my sister, Caroline, the style of eye look I was looking for. They didn’t have to all be the same, but I wanted them to see the shapes & colors I had in mind. Then everyone went to work fixing their hair & helping each other with their makeup. Maybe this seems like a bit much, but I’m so glad we actually did this. I’m confident it made getting ready on the day much smoother.

Beauty Gift Bags For Your Girlfriends

Beauty Gift Bags For Your Girlfriends

Hello Everyone!

This is something I have always wanted to do, & I’m so excited to finally be putting these together this year! During the Sephora VIB Rouge sale last month, I ordered a few value sets filled with fun makeup & skincare bits. Now, I get to break them up & make little Christmas beauty gift bags for my girlfriends. The best part, is that they are actually amazing products, & I saved so much money by buying the Sephora value sets. Let me show you how I divide them up & package them to give away.

Holiday Sets To Make Beauty Gift Bags For Your Girlfriends

Beauty Gift Bags For Your Girlfriends

The four value sets I chose sold out very quickly, but don’t you worry! I’ve found quite the roundup of holiday sets at every price point. Some of my favorites available now have to be this Tarte Holiday Lip Sculptor Set, these Origins Superstar Minis, & this Buxom Mini Lip Collection (You know how much I die for these Buxom glosses!).

Once you’ve chosen your sets, now comes the fun part: choosing who gets what. This can definitely take some time, but I just love thinking about what would look good one each of my girlfriends, or which shade/scent they would love most. Yes, you are buying things in bulk, but you are also personalizing each gift in a special way.

Split them up however you want. I tried to spread mine out equally so that each of my girlfriends get 2-3 fun beauty products curated just for them.

After I’ve divided everything up, I now place them in a fun & festive holiday bag along with a personalized Christmas note. These beauty bits are great because they can act alone as a great gift, or can be a supplement for a gift you already have for them. To finish these off this year, I am going to make some homemade Christmas cookies & add a few to each bag. Other fun add-ons include store bought chocolates or candies, candles, hot cocoa mixes, a Christmas ornament, puppy chow, or cocktail minis. I had so much fun making these this season, I know I will definitely be doing this again in the coming years.

Doesn’t this sound like a fun way to give gifts this year? xx

Ladies Holiday Gift Guide

Ladies Holiday Gift Guide

Hello Everyone!

There are so many sales going on today for Green Monday. So, I thought, what better day than today to post my holiday gift guide for all the ladies in your life. Let’s break it down. (***All the discount codes are at the bottom!***)

For the fashion lovers in your life, a pair of tassel earrings (like these or these) is a for sure winner. I’ve loved tassel earring for quite some time now, (thank you Oscar de la Renta) & I love how on trend they are this season. They are such a fun way to spice up an outfit. Also, you can’t go wrong with a classic beret or a neutral clutch.

For the beauty experts in your life, going with anything Charlotte Tilbury is a no brainer. This Beauty Icons set just dreamy & set at such a great price. My favorites at the moment are her Contour Wand & Light Wand. Who doesn’t love a good highlighter? & with the printed lips on this product, it’s sure to be a winning gift this Christmas. Want to splurge? Get the eyeshadow palette of the year: the Marc Jacobs Wild One Eye-Conic Eyeshadow Palette. Other great options include a Ciate mini polish, the Fresh Rose Hydration Heroes set, & the Jo Malone Peony & Blush Suede fragrance.

For the homebodies (like me) in your life, try a candle gift set like this one from Voluspa. What about a weekend kit that includes a pajama set, a face mask, a sweet treat, & a cocktail kit?! Now that sounds like a gift any lady in your life will love.

Of course, Glossier is a great way to shop this holiday season! My all time favorites are the priming moisture rich, the milky jelly cleanser, the boy brow, & the balm dot com. Shop my page & sign up with a new account to receive 20% off & free shipping on all orders over $30!

Fall Makeup

Fall Makeup

Hello Everyone!

I’ve been dying to share some of my fall makeup favorites with you guys!  These faves include a few lipsticks, eye products, & a new blush that I have been absolutely living in recently. It’s so fun to change up your makeup looks when the seasons change. This fall, I’m loving berry tones & deep red lips with jewel tone eyes & glistening cheeks. These products are just heavenly…let’s dive in!

Fall Makeup

Fall Makeup

I would have to say that this blush/lipstick combo is my perfect quintessential fall look. This Mary Kay lipstick in the shade Midnight Red has been my most worn lipstick over the past few weeks, & with good reason. First off, the color is just gorgeous. It’s the perfect matte bold lip. They advertise this as a semi-matte lip, but I find that it’s quite matte, just a comfortable matte. This product is effortless to wear, & I love that the formula does not dry out my lips! Thank you!

Now, when I first saw this blush, I couldn’t stop gasping! It’s in the shade Golden Copper, & if that doesn’t already scream fall…I don’t know what does! This product has amazing pigmentation & color pay-off, & blends like a dream. It’s so nice to have a blush that you know when you put it on in the morning, that it’s going to last the entire day.*

Fall Makeup

Fall Makeup

I purchased this lipstick a few years ago while dancing on tour, & every year around this time, I get so exciting to bring it back out. This dreamy, berry toned lip is none other than the Too Faced Melted Fig. I have nothing bad to say about this product. I love the application, the wear, the feel, & I get compliments on it every single time I wear it! It really has a way of effortlessly completing a look.

This bold matte lip is slightly brighter than the Mary Kay product mentioned above. I believe this Maybelline lipstick in the shade Divine Wine goes best with blue eyes. Whenever I wear this product, I feel like it truly makes my features pop. If you’re a fellow blue-eyed girl, this lipstick is one you need in your collection, & for under $6…you really can’t beat it!

Some other honorable mentions include my all time favorite copper eyeliner that actually stays in my waterline, my navy eyeliner to define my eyes (though softer than black), & my favorite fall Marc Jacobs lipstick in Headliner. I also love adding a little bit of a glow to my skin to freshen up my face on chiller days with the bronze shade in this glow kit. All I need is a very light dusting to top off your bronzer, & I’m radiant, & ready for the day.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post. If so, let me know in the comments below!

What are your favorite fall makeup products? Have you tried any of mine? xx

*These products were given to me by Mary Kay, but the thoughts & reviews are my own. To purchase these products, or find out more about Mary Kay, head over to my friend, Sabrina’s, page. Click here!

Year 26 Goals

Year 26 Goals

Year 26 Goals

Hello Everyone!

I turned 26 last week! Since then, I’ve been doing some thinking about what I want this next year of my life to look like. Setting goals is something I love to do. Goals encourage growth, remind me what is most important in life, & help me keep my passions & dreams alive. I am a very goal driven person, but most of the time, I keep track of them in my head. This year, I want to do things differently. I believe writing things down holds power over the words written. Sometimes just seeing your thoughts on paper (or on the internet) gives them more weight to then turn those words into actions. So today I want to share with you a few of my goals for this upcoming year in hopes that these words spark true action in my life.

Get A Haircut

I have skimped out on a proper haircut for YEARS! Yes, I’ve gotten nice “haircuts”, but none that required more than a straight chop or trim. This year (& soon!), I want to get a nice haircut with proper layers for better styling. Since I’m actually fixing my hair (thanks to my amazing curling iron) more these days, I would like my curls to give my hair some body rather than just hanging out at the bottom because my hair is basically all one length. Maybe I’ll post some haircut inspiration in my Instagram stories soon…

More Videos

Some of you guys might have seen my recent Q&A on my Instagram stories, which was a huge step for me. I typically shy away from speaking on camera, but I want to give it a fair try. In order to get better at it, I have to just keep trying & putting myself out there. I want to get to know you guys more & let you get to know me as well, & I believe things like being more present on my Instagram stories will help make those things happen. Who knows…maybe I’ll even start doing live tutorials?!…

Build Community

To carry on with what I was saying before, I want to build a community with you guys. I want to provide an environment here on F&F for honest communication & true friendships. Maybe that looks like responding to people faster & with more thought out answers, but that also means I need to hear from you. In order for me to achieve my goal of building a community here, I need to hear feedback from you. If you liked a post & you want to see more things like that, tell me! Maybe you didn’t care for reading something, tell me that too! If you have a question about a post, or really about anything…like my favorite cereal or something…just ask me! I want to hear from you! Let’s build an F&F community together!

Give Back

I’ve been thinking about these two words for quite some time now, & wondering how I can accomplish them in my day to day life & also here on my blog. Whether it’s making more meaningful relationships, encouraging those around me, or volunteering somewhere, I’m searching for ways I can give back to my community to help better our world. I’ll keep you updated on this one…but in the meantime, if you have any suggestions on ways to give back, please leave them in the comments below.

Write More Letters

I honestly think this is a goal every year for me. I don’t know why this doesn’t come naturally to me, but I want to be a meaningful letter writer so bad! My thought is that if I have some really beautiful stationary, I’ll be more inclined to write…do you think it will work? Any advice? I feel a stationary haul coming up soon…

Travel

This one is a little cliché, but in my 25th year, I traveled to New York, D.C., Oklahoma, Maine, Paris, & Africa! Now I don’t want to stop! I am wanting to travel near & far. My goal is to save money & miles to be able to take weekend trips places closer to home, while also taking a trip or two out of the country. A few places on my list include: Spain, London, Japan, PARIS AGAIN, Boston, Charleston, & Nashville. Here’s hoping I’m able to travel more this year!

Are you a fellow goal-setter? What are some goals you have for this year? xx
