My bridesmaids were literally rockstars. I was so thankful that everyone got to be there in Maine with me the entire week leading up to the wedding. They were such lifesavers. From helping with decorations to making me laugh & keeping me calm, I don’t know if I could have done it without these six ladies.

Abby – my new sister-in-law

I knew from the very beginning that I wanted my bridesmaids to be in unique yet cohesive dresses. When I started my search on BHLDN immediately after finding my dress, I took screenshots of all of my favorites. I wanted to make sure that the textures of each dress were different. All of the dresses I chose were in the blush, gold, rose gold, & nude range which kept a cohesive theme throughout. It was also important to me that the level of sparkle was different for each dress. These factors were key, in my opinion, to making the mix & match style work.
In my head, I had already imagined each of my ladies in specific styles that I thought would suit them best, but I wanted them to love their dress, so I sent them all of the choices & you’ll never believe what happened. They all chose the dresses I had imagined them in! It was a wedding miracle.

Being the control freak that I am, I arranged for my bridesmaids along with both of the mothers to have a dress rehearsal two days before the wedding. This was not only for me to be able to finally see all of the dresses together, but also so that they could ask me any questions they wanted to about hair & makeup at that time rather than on the day of the wedding. Since we were all going to be doing our own hair & makeup on the day, I first demonstrated on my sister, Caroline, the style of eye look I was looking for. They didn’t have to all be the same, but I wanted them to see the shapes & colors I had in mind. Then everyone went to work fixing their hair & helping each other with their makeup. Maybe this seems like a bit much, but I’m so glad we actually did this. I’m confident it made getting ready on the day much smoother.

I didn’t take any photos of the gifts I gave to my lovely bridesmaids, but I thought I would list & link what I ended up getting them. They turned out so well.
