A Glossier Update - What Am I Still Using?

2 Years Later…

I’ve been a Glossier Rep for about 2 years now & it’s been about a year since I updated my Best & Worst Of Glossier post. Today I want to be brutally honest & share with you the products that have stood the test of time. These products are either ones I’ve loved for the entire 2 years, ones that are newer launches that I’m loving, or items that I’ve changed my mind about & fallen in love with in a whole new way. For whatever reason they are featured in this post, know that I truly, truly adore each & every one of these product & use them every week, if not every day!

Make sure you read my Best & Worst Of Glossier Post to hear about which products you should really pass on. I reviewed each product I’ve tried & give you my honest feeling on which products are worth your money & which ones you definitely don’t need in your life.

Also, please don’t forget to shop on Glossier through my Rep Page. When you shop using my Rep Page, I get a small commission that helps support Felix & Flora! Thank youuuu!

Let’s Start With Skincare!

These 6 items are products my skin truly loves. They are hydrating & plumping & are full of key ingredients for healthy skin. I love that while these products are so hydrating, they have never made my skin break out. Even though my skin leans on the oily side, these products keep my skin healthy & moisturized without looking or feeling greasy.

Milky Oil

The Milky Oil is perfect for taking off my makeup at the end of the day. I used to use it with the Glossier cotton rounds, but I have recently started using these really nice & affordable reusable cotton rounds in an effort to create less waste. This formula always feels so good on my skin & melts away my makeup with ease.

Milky Jelly Cleanser

This cleanser is my favorite to use when I travel. It feels like such a treat to use! The Milky Jelly Cleanser perfectly cleans my skin without stripping away any necessary moisture.

Solution

Glossier’s Solution is a holy grail product in my collection. Again, I use this on my reusable cotton rounds about once or twice a week. If there is ever a time when my skin is breaking out, I will use it more frequently. It has a way of perfectly transforming my skin. I love to use a luxurious moisturizer after applying this & my go-to is the Pacifica Wake Up Beautiful sleep mask.

Priming Moisture Rich + Super Bounce

About 3 times a week I combine Super Bounce with the Priming Moisture Rich as a part of my evening skincare routine. My skin absolutely adores this combination. It feels so luxurious & rich on the skin. These products last quite long & are definitely worth repurchasing.

Bubble Wrap

This is the newest skincare product by Glossier that I have fallen in love with. I’m so obsessed with the way it makes my skin feel the next day after applying it on the skin under & around my eyes the night before. This eye cream really does plump, nourish, & revitalize the skin in a major way! If you haven’t tried this yet, you need to!

Body Hero Daily Perfecting Cream

This summer, I was totally smitten with this product. My favorite way to apply it to my legs & arms is in combination with the Nuxe Dry Oil. They are literally a match made in heaven & make your skin glow like no other. The scent, though not my favorite, is one that I have grown to love & crave over time. This is truly a body hero & my skin drinks it in.

Balm Dot Com

This lip balm is a MUST HAVE product for my day to day life. I always have to apply a nice layer to my lips & cuticle before I go to bed. It’s a ritual I have grown to love. I have so many flavors, but my favorites are the mint & the rose. The berry flavor, which is their newest launch, is one I’m dying to try out, however.

Time For Some Amazing Makeup Products!

Face

Ok, ok, ok…so in my Best & Worst Of Glossier post, I mentioned that I never got on with Cloud Paint. Well, this summer, everything changed. My “no makeup, makeup” routine now includes me mixing my Haloscope in Quartz with my Cloud Paint in the shade Dusk. I’ve been totally into this look recently & now I’m dying to try more shades! Maybe Puff? Which Cloud Paint shades are your favorites?

Another great face product I’ve been really into lately is the Niteshine in shade Pale Pearl. It blends easily & perfectly glows on the skin.

Eyes

Before we technically get into the eyes, I have to mention my one & only true love…the Boy Brow. I literally use this product daily & cannot leave the house without applying it. Next on my list…the Brow Flick! If you’ve tried it…tell me EVERYTHING!

For eyes, I’m really into the Colorslide liners. I have the shades Magic Carpet & Candyland, which is my favorite. these glide on the lid with ease & last all day! They are amazing & can someone please buy me one of each of the 14 incredible shades?

At my work, we like to have Sparkle Fridays & the Glitter Gelée is so much fun to wear on the lid. I have the shade Phantasm which has the coolest effect. It’s opalescent & catches the light in a really special way. Again, I’m dying to try the other 3 shades soon.

Lastly, for mascara, I’ve been wearing the Glossier Lash Slick on a daily basis. No joke, this is the ONLY mascara that doesn’t transfer or flake off during my entire work day. I am a professional ballet dancer, so I sweat, touch, & partner with other dancers for 8 hours a day, & I never have to worry about this mascara giving me any issues. A total lifesaver.

Lips

Generation G lipstick are just so so good. I love how you are able to build up the color as much as you want. The end result looks like a perfectly blotted lipstick that is long wearing & comfortable on the lips. I have the shades Cake & Crush & I wear them all the time. Totally worth the money.

The Glossier Lip Gloss is one of the juiciest & shiniest lip glosses I’ve ever tried. Now they have 3 shades that are all calling my name! Even Michelle Obama wears it!

The Most Photographed Day Of Your Life

On my wedding day, I knew the look I was going for. I wanted to look like me, but the very best version of myself. Since I have makeup, I know my face, & I’ve watched enough YouTube to have at least a minor degree in makeup application, I decided to do my own makeup on the big day. But this wasn’t my first go at bridal makeup – or my last! Over the past couple of years I’ve had the pleasure of doing bridal makeup & bridesmaid makeup for a handful of weddings. I am by no means an expert, by I have learned so much & I have been wanting to share this with you for some time now. With wedding season upon us, let’s talk bridal makeup tips.

Top Tips

When I envision bridal makeup, I see glowing skin, flattering lipstick, bright eyes, & a sculpted face. Make sure you use a concealer that’s slightly lighter than your foundation & don’t only use it under the eyes. Take it down the center of the face from the center of the forehead to the chin. Doing this helps uniform the look as well as brightens up the center of the face.

Use a good contour. I’m totally smitten by the Charlotte Tilbury Contour & Highlight Wands & I recommend them to every bride. They just work, it’s as simple as that! I use this brush to blend in the contour & my beautyblender to blend out the highlight.

I’m not sure if this is a tip necessarily, but I do not recommend using false lashes on your wedding day unless you use them on a daily basis already. Not because I’m not comfortable putting them on, because I wear them for shows all the time, but because they don’t look natural on me. On the most photographed day of my life, I want to truly look like myself. If you don’t think your lashes curled with mascara will be enough, I would recommend getting a lift or extensions for the wedding over applying false lashes.

My Must-Have Products I Use On Every Bride

For foundation, every bride’s skin will require something unique to them. I always mix in a drop of my Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops in the shade, Moonlight, to whatever foundation the bride chooses. My go-to concealer for brides in actually the concealer I use every day – the Maybelline Age Rewind Eraser Concealer. To highlight the center of the face, I sweep a nice layer of shades from my Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette. Those powders are pure magic on the face.

I’ve played around with looks from so many different eye shadow palettes, but I’ve found my bridal holy grail. The Urban Decay Naked2 Palette will forever be my go-to for brides. My favorite colors are Tease in the crease, Snakebite to darken up the outer v, Bootycall all over the lid, & Chopper on the outer half of the lid for a bit of warmth & shine.

For bridal lipstick, I would have to recommend using either YSL or Charlotte Tilbury products. On my wedding day, I layer two YSL lip products on my lips (shade 11 & shade 70) & I absolutely loved how fresh & feminine it looked. Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks have mad staying powers & always seem to wear off so well! Even the non-matte K.I.S.S.I.N.G. lipsticks last for so long & look amazing. You can’t go wrong with either of these brands.

Ready For A Fresh Face

Over the past five years, my love for makeup has grown & grown. I love reading reviews on how good a product’s formula is, if it’s long lasting, or if it has any skincare benefits, to find the best of the best products out there. My collection ranges from more high end beauty products to some of the most affordable & amazing products on the market. I’m so excited to share with you my very favorite, tried & true, best affordable makeup products.

A Good Base

It’s so important to start with a solid base when applying makeup. So many of my very favorite makeup base products come right from the drugstore. To start, I like to use the Almay Anti-Aging Smart Shade tinted moisturizer. Not only does this product have anti-aging properties, but it also has SPF 20 & does not break me out. It’s so easy to use. I just apply it with my hands like a moisturizer. Then I go with my ride or die concealer by Maybelline. Lastly, the Maybelline Fit Me matte pressed powder is key for a cake-free, flawless looking face.

Make It Multipurpose

The secret to a fresh, cohesive face is to let your already affordable products, be multipurpose products. My favorite look at the moment, uses 3 face products as eye products. I apply my Physician’s Formula Bronzer to bronze my face, as well as the crease color for my easy eye look. Then I use my Milani Luminoso Blush on the apples of my cheeks & then as a wash of color on my eyelids. To finish the eye look & brighten my face, I use an old favorite highlighter, Colourpop’s Wisp, on the high points of my cheek bones as well as in the inner corner of my eyes.

Don’t Forget The Lips!

It’s so much fun to play around with inexpensive lip products. This is a great way to test out new shades that may be a little bit out of your comfort zone. Drugstore & affordable lipsticks are great for building your collection & figuring out what shades really suit you. One way to make your more affordable lipsticks look more luxury is to layer them in order to create more depth to your look. My favorite affordable combination right now is to first apply a layer of the Maybelline matte shade called “Lust For Blush”, then to swipe on a coat of the L’Oreal lipstick in the shade “Peach Fuzz”, which has more of a sheen to it. I love playing with a mixture of warm & cool tones to create my own unique shade.

Those Citrus Vibes

As I’ve mentioned before, I’m working on adding more yellow into my wardrobe & this dress is one of my new favorite pieces. My first reaction upon seeing this dress online, was to order it in a dreamy white shade, but when I saw it also came in yellow, I decided to take a chance & dive right in.

In my previous post, I talked about wanting to maybe do a full green & yellow look. I did not have an idea in mind for this post yet, but then I randomly one day tried this combination on together & it felt so right. The dramatic skirt of this dress in contrast with the green, more structured & formal feel of the jacket overtop is a look I’m totally in to at the moment. One thing I really needed for this outfit to truly come together was a great pair of green + yellow earrings. These BaubleBar earrings blinged out in lemons were an absolutely perfect match.

My Green + Yellow Look

This amazing bright yellow dress is definitely the star of the show. I know you will see me wearing this so much over the coming months because of how stunning it is on it’s own. For this post, I layered this vintage green houndstooth jacket with gold buttons (similar here), but wrapped the belt of the dress over it for a more flattering silhouette. A dress like this will look great with flats in the summer, but I loved how these ivory rounded toe, chunky heels complimented this look perfectly. For a bit of texture, I wore my classic, mini Chanel bag which tied in with the darker tones of my jacket.

This location was perfect with the green & yellow houses, but there was a salmon colored one right in the middle that matched my lipstick so well! I was wearing my new favorite: the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Lips Liquid Lipstick in the shade, Too Bad, I’m Bad. Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks are just the best. They last so long, wear so well, & feel so comfortable on the lips. You know I love my affordable products, but I will say, these lipsticks are worth a little splurge.

Our Valentine's Day + Celebrating 6 Months Of Marriage

My Forever Valentine

This is our fourth Valentine’s Day together, but this year is the most special of them all. We are officially a family now & since our wedding, our love has only grown. (As cheesy as it sounds…it’s true!) Ben & I wanted to do something special together to celebrate our first married Valentine’s Day, but we had to do it a little bit early this year. I will be performing tonight & the rest of the weekend, so Ben had the great idea of visiting the beautiful Agecroft Hall last weekend. Neither of us had ever been, so we slept in, had cinnamon rolls & coffee, then left at noon to arrive right when the gates opened.

Agecroft Hall

Agecroft Hall is a lovely, Tudor manor house right on the James River located just minutes from our house. Believe it or not, this home was built in the late 15th century in Lancashire, England. Then in the early 20th century it was deconstructed, shipped overseas, & rebuilt. This place is incredible. The details, paintings, elaborate beds & ceilings were magnificent. Not to mention the masterfully laid out gardens. Needless to say, we cannot wait to go back in the spring & summer when the gardens are in full bloom. I hear that in the summer, the also have live Shakespeare performances outside! We had a lovely afternoon on this amazing property & cannot wait to go back.

Our First 6 Months

Ben & I recently celebrated our 6 month wedding anniversary. Since our magical wedding day, we’ve travelled to Italy, Ben started a new job, I changed my name, we had both of our families here at home for Christmas, & we’ve worked together as a team on building our life together as well as our finances. We love spending time together & dreaming big dreams for our future. Both of us have mentioned that it is still some much fun calling each other husband & wife. As we were reflecting the other night & talking about the last 6 months of marriage, the same truth rang true in both of our hearts: we’ve never felt more in love. Maybe it’s the honeymoon season, but either way, I love this man & am so thankful we are on this path together.

Who Is She?

For my final Valentine’s Day look, I wanted to share a more fancy & even a little bit sexy look with you. I wanted to shake up the typical fancy date night look & give it more of a vintage glamour feel. This look is for the bold romantic. She’s ready to step out on the town with her man for a night to remember. This glamorous lady takes charge & isn’t afraid of following her dreams or writing her destiny. The vintage glamour valentine craves adventure & finds inspiration around every corner.

What She Wears

This fierce lady wears a feminine lace midi dress in a vintage cream color. The midi length lace offsets the low cut top making this look sexy & sophisticated all at once. Her faux fur stole is a must on an occasion such as this. It’s the perfect item to keep her exposed skin warm on a chilly evening. For shoes, she opts for a statement heel in the same color as her dress for a more streamline look. She only wears drop pearl earrings & a single strand of pearls around her wrist for jewelry. This timeless look calls for simple makeup topped off with a vintage coral red lip.

The Date She Goes On

This couple is glammed up & ready for a romantic night out together. Their date night begins with an elegant dinner at one of the swankiest restaurants in town. They have reservations, of course, & enjoy their delicious meal over meaningful conversation & loving glances. This couple then finds the best live show to see on this special night. Maybe it’s the symphony, the opera, a broadway show, or even a ballet! (Richmond Ballet will be performing Cinderella this Valentine’s Day!) After an incredible performance, they slip into the speak easy they’ve heard so much about & enjoy fancy cocktails for the remainder of the night.
