Honestly, I’ve never felt more like “me” than during this shoot. For so long, I put myself in a box of what I thought people wanted to see from me, but now I’m allowing myself to be creative & take risks & create content that I truly love. What can you expect to see from me moving forward…bold makeup, creative florals, fun accessories…& as always fearless, feminine fashion. I’m still going to be showcasing affordable fashion, just with a more creative flair. I hope you guys enjoy the new content as much as I do! <3
A great way to wear your spring & summer dresses while it’s still a bit chilly out is by layering fun, feminine blouses underneath. This maxi dress features the purple color I can’t get enough of this season. It’s everywhere & honestly all I want to wear ATM. I has so much fun putting this look together with the mixing prints, textures, & bright colors. Little details I love include the watercolor blush (inspired by this video), & my gold hoops.
I sometimes have a hard time finding shorts that still have that feminine feel. When searching for the perfect pair, I look for feminine details that will help elevate my look & make a fun statement. Today I want to share a bit about this super cute outfit I’ll be living in this summer. Also, I’m rounding up my favorite feminine shorts on the market right now!
This outfit perfectly displays print mixing that follows all the rules I outlined in my Print Mixing For Beginners post. The contrasting sizes & common color palette help make these pieces a perfect match. Also, I love the silhouette this outfit creates. The high waisted shorts combined with the wrap top & puffy sleeves make that classic feminine shape I’m all about.
What To Look For…
When it comes to searching for the perfect pair of feminine shorts, there are a few things I tend to look for. First off, I don’t want them to be too short or too tight. I like my shorts to fully cover me so that I can even bend down without fear of showing more skin than I would like. This goes without saying, but of course they will also have to be high-waisted. I can’t comfortably wear non-high waisted things anymore. What can I say, I’m hooked!
As far as details go, I love these shorts because of the lovely floral print on display. Not to mention this is a Laura Ashley print which I have loved basically my entire life. I search for those details like a fun floral print, bows, or a unique color to make a statement & bring that feminine flair I love so much.
I’m so excited to share with you my Designer Crush for June! Dolce & Gabbana has been a stand out designer for me over the years. I’ve always been attracted to the bright colors, bold prints, & extravagant accessories. This look has been my most fun to put together to date. With D&G, more is always more!
In this post, you’ll see D&G photos I’m totally inspired by, get details on my look, learn how you can create your own D&G look, & shop some super affordable D&G inspired pieces! Just keep scrolling…
My Dolce & Gabbana look is all about mixing prints, textures, & most of all COLOR! These are things D&G definitely does not shy away from & neither should you. The idea for this look first came from this dress I found at Goodwill last summer. It immediately reminded me of D&G resort wear & I knew I had to create a look with it. (similar dresses here & here) To add a bit of drama to this outfit, I layered this sheer pussy bow top underneath (also worn here & here). Then it was time for a bit of print mixing, so I added my zebra shoes to contrast with the floral dress. Sticking to the animal theme, I knew this blush bag would be perfect for this look because of the gold chain strap & the lion head clasp.
Wearing a Dolce & Gabbana inspired look is all about confidence. It’s about how you wear the bold colors & prints & jewels with pride. Let me tell you, people will stare, but I’m saying let them stare! D&G, just like F&F, is all about fearless fashion. Dare them to stare. Rock your look. Be creative & be bold! Remember, more is MORE!
My houndstooth obsession has definitely multiplied over the past couple of months, & the proof is in this outfit! This classic print is one of the easiest prints to transform from day to night. I find I can easily talk myself into purchasing an item in this print because it truly never goes out of style.
The only new item in this outfit is my new tan croc belt. All of the other pieces I have added to my wardrobe here & there over the years. I thought this outfit would be perfect to share with you guys. 5 ways to elevate your look using items you already own in your wardrobe. Using these tips will help you to instantly look chic & effortlessly put together.
1. Pop Your Collar
I am all about popping my coat collars. This simple trick gives you that instant cool factor & adds a bit of dimension to your look. It also shields your neck & face from the cold as an added bonus. Look cool, but feel warm.
Belts are a big trend right now. They are that added accessory item that can really bring a whole look together. This autumn/winter, I’m loving adding belts to my oversized coats & sweaters to create a more flattering shape.
Whether you want to match your bag to your outfit by print or color, this tip is sure to elevate your entire look. Taking that extra 30 seconds to choose a bag that truly matches your look rather than one that just “goes”, totally ups your whole outfit. Also, changing out your purses on a daily basis helps you carry around less clutter & more essentials.
Rolling the sleeves of your coat, cardigan, or sweater adds a bit more texture to your outfit. For some reason, doing this makes you not only look more put together, but relaxed & chic at the same time. This tip is so easy to try out on the daily, so why not start now?
Curated outfits, like the one I’m wearing, are popping up everywhere right now. The biggest tip I can give on this is to stick to 2-3 colors at a time. Own a lot of polka dots? Try mixing them together to create a look. Are you a fellow stripes lover? Why not try a stripes on stripes look? (see mine here) This tip works beautifully with gingham as well. Give it a try! You may be surprised by how good it looks.
I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect spring/summer shoe that can work with both casual, everyday outfits, as well as dressed up, evening outfits. These adorable white espadrilles tick every box! I’ve always loved the look of nice espadrilles, but I found that the more affordable pairs didn’t fit the same. Either they were uncomfortable, or the shape of the toe was too round & unflattering. Then I found the perfect pair for only $45! They look just like this pair by Castaner that are $130! They have the same shape, colors, & perfect capped toe. I find these shoes to be so flattering & I love the tie detail around the ankle. So sweet!
This outfit was another print mixing challenge of mine. I’m having so much fun exploring how I can mix & match different pieces in my wardrobe together. Find my print mixing tips here & my mixing stripes on stripes here.

I cannot stop wearing my espadrilles. They just go with everything! A total must-have for my wardrobe. I also have this adorable lemon pair in my collection getting me excited about traveling to Positano!

I’m back with another round of print mixing (see previous post & tips here). This look combines two takes on stripes & I love how it turned out. I’ll be honest though, it took some guts to put this together. Print mixing can be risky business, but it pays off big time when you get it right. This look stands out in all the right ways. Let’s find out why this stripes on stripes look just works.
How To Make Stripes On Stripes Work
In my previous print mixing post, I mentioned that it’s important to pay attention to the size of prints your mixing. The stripes on my puffy sleeved top are much larger than the stripes on my skirt. That is the most important thing remember: mix a larger print with a smaller print.
Colors are obviously important in a look like this as well. The shades of blue play off each other & compliment one another quite nicely. Also, the added texture of florals on top of the stripes on the skirt make things not so monotonous.
One last thing to keep in mind it to make sure that the stripes are going the same way. I’m sure there is probably a way to make mixing horizontal & vertical stripes work, but keeping them unified is a much safer approach.
I challenge you to play around with some prints in your wardrobe. Or next time you go shopping, grab some prints & play around with them in the dressing room without spending any money! Would you rock the stripes on stripes look? xx
