National Gin Day

Today is National Gin Day!
I celebrated a day early because yesterday was my last day of work for the season! Yippee! Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE my job, just thankful for some time to let my body rest.
What better way to celebrate than a build your own gin and tonic bar?!
I made a few recipe prompts to get people started. (Please note the ballet magnets:) )
We had so many delicious flavors to choose from.

We made so many fun combinations of drinks and then played Heads Up.  Has anyone else played that game? It’s so much fun! It’s an app you can get on your phone.  You choose a category like animals, movies, accents, hey Mr. DJ, or my personal favorite act it out. Once you’ve chosen a category, you put your phone on your forehead with the screen facing the other people.  A word from the category you chose shows up and the other people have to describe it or hum it or act it out until you get it right or pass.  We had a great time playing it for hours while sipping on our yummy drinks.

But I can’t forget our real entertainment for the night: my new adventurous kitty, Felix.

There’s something so satisfying when you make something that tastes good.  I think that’s why everyone enjoyed last night so much because they all got to take part in making their own unique cocktail.  I think this might become a new annual tradition for me.

Don’t forget to celebrate National Gin Day today!
If you have any favorite gin recipes please share!
