Spring is here!!! These blooms are definitely brightening my day!

Social Distancing Beneath The Cherry Blossoms

My heart goes out to our world right now. This is such a scary time. All we can do is stay at home, be diligent in our social distancing, & pray for the health & healing of our world. In this post, I want to share things I’ve been doing at home to pass the time, stay positive, & keep up productivity.

Social Distancing Beneath The Cherry Blossoms

Ben & I have been doing some fun house projects such as painting & decorating! I promise to share photos & more info on all of our home projects in the weeks to come…so stay tuned!

All of this time at home has opened up my schedule for some spring cleaning. It’s the perfect time to do a deep clean & declutter around the house. We’ve been going through closets & drawers that have been neglected in order to get rid of things we don’t need anymore. It feels so good to purge those things & give our living space a bit of a refresh.

Another thing I’ve been trying to do lately is boost my creativity. Whether I’ve been watercolor painting, playing with new pairings in my closet, or painting my face with makeup, it’s a great time to get those creative juices flowing & experiment with new things (& without spending any money!).

Now for technology…

I’m finally into TikTok, you guys! I may or may not have called it TicTac on accident recently…but that’s besides the point. TikTok has been a huge bright spot in my life these past few days. I find myself cracking up, relating, & watching these super creative videos with awe. Why not try a few new dance moves? Are you on TikTok, too?

Thank goodness for FaceTime am I right?! It has been so nice to see the faces of my friends & family during this time. Reach out to your loved ones. Tell them you love them. We will get through this together!

Lastly, I’ve been playing around with how I edit my photos. This year, I’ve decided to allow myself to try new things. I don’t want to get in a rut of how my photos “should look”. I want to play around with color, light, & contrast & I hope you all enjoy the different feel in each look.

The Dress

Chicwish kindly gifted me this gorgeous cream embroidered dress with tie sleeves that I was so excited to style this summer. As I began playing around with it in my wardrobe, I realized that this dress can actually be worn in EVERY season! One dress to wear in all four seasons. Talk about versatility & definitely getting your money’s worth. See how I’ve styled this classic dress uniquely for each season of the the year.

Spring

One Dress, Four Seasons

My classic trench coat is my go-to jacket to wear especially in the spring. It’s a great length, light-weight, & keeps me warm in the crisp spring air. For shoes, I went with a patent ballet flat. This pair is under $15 & is great to wear even on rainy days. What is spring without a few floral accessories? A pair of floral earrings & a floral print bag really brighten up this look. Lastly, a colorful pastel yellow pair of sunnies to welcome some warmer weather.

Summer

One Dress, Four Seasons

My designer dupe espadrilles are my favorite summer shoe, so of course I had to pair them with this dress. Warm tones have been my favorite to wear this summer like these orange cat eye sunglasses, this brown woven belt, & the floral scarf tied in a bow on my bag. To tie in with the bow on my bag & the tie sleeves, & paired this look with a simple pair of gold bow studs for an effortless look. What is summer without a great basket bag, am I right? It’s been a favorite of mine & you would not believe how affordable it is!

One Dress, Four Seasons

Fall

One Dress, Four Seasons

I wanted to play with a bit of layering for this fall look & decided to choose one of my favorite colors for fall to do so: camel. This camel turtleneck is so soft & is a great layering piece to add warmth to your look. Not to mention it matches my camel beret perfectly. I love the way this blush cardigan looks with the cream dress & the camel accents. It gives the whole look that cozy vibe. For earrings I went with these pearl earrings to tie in with the cream dress. Lastly, I paired these nude suede ballet flats & a dark toned bag for some contrast.

One Dress, Four Seasons

Winter

One Dress, Four Seasons

Yep, this dress even works in winter! I threw this oversized burgundy roll neck sweater over my lovely cream dress & paired it with a few other burgundy accessories. Berets really do add so much warmth in the fall & winter months which is why I have so many colors to wear almost everyday! I wanted to add my check coat to add a bit of structure to the look & tie in with my black box bag that’s one of my winter staples. If you’re worried about being cold in the winter in just a dress, remember you can always add boots, tights, or even fleece leggings underneath!

How I Curate My Everyday Looks

How I Curate My Everyday Looks

How I Curate My Everyday Looks

Everyday Ritual

Everyday, each & every one of us performs the ritual of choosing & putting on clothes for the day. How refreshing it is to start each new day with clean clothes that speak for us & provide the first impression of our persona to the world. I’m in introvert by nature, so I love creating outfits that start conversations for me. Each day I curate outfits that tell the world around me a little bit about me before a word leaves my mouth. I want my outfits to show that I’m kind, approachable, feminine, classy, put together, a little bit playful, & always garden party ready. Knowing what I want my clothes to say about me, means I’m ready to curate my look for the day.

How I Curate My Everyday Looks

Let’s Start At The Very Beginning…

…a very good place to start!:) Since I know what I want my clothes to say for me, now I choose my color palette. Like I mentioned in my 6 Steps To Spring Style post, I love choosing my daily color palette by what I’m most inspired by in nature at the moment. Right now I’m loving the grass turning green again, the bright blue sky, & fresh white blooms.

Now it’s time to piece together the puzzle. I love the feminine hourglass shape look, so wearing things that aren’t too fitted around my shoulders & full skirts on my legs combined with a fitted, high-waisted waistline creates that timeless silhouette. My blue floral earrings go with the florals on my top & the navy color of my skirt bringing the whole look together.

Making It My Own

It’s important to me that I add my own personal flair to my everyday looks. For instance, I wrapped a silk scarf around the handle of my basket bag. These little details show the thought & care put into each outfit. I also love throwing in a pop of either print or color that may seem unexpected. My colorful floral embroidered mules do just that, without straying too far from the theme & vibe of the look.

Nothing Says “Sunny Days” More

Isn’t gingham the happiest print you ever did see? This must be why once the sun comes out & brings about warmer days, I gravitate towards pieces like this sweet gingham dress. This iconic print also reminds me of one of my favorite things to do this time of year…PICNICS! My girlfriends & I recently took a trip to Charleston & had the loveliest picnic one afternoon. What do you know, I wore a gingham top on the picnic too! Seriously, nothing says, “sunny days” more than a bit of cheerful gingham.

Adding To My Obsession

I forget how attracted I am to blue until the weather warms up—then I’m utterly obsessed! Give me all the blue & white things! That’s why when I was browsing through Prim + Pop’s website & I found this dress, I knew it belonged in my closet. Not only is it blue & white, but it has the sweetest feminine shape. I love the square neckline combined with the back cutout & of course, the bow details. You wouldn’t believe how soft it is too!

I’m also realizing that apparently this shade of blue is my favorite at the moment. My affordable blue espadrilles are a perfect color match, & my newest flower earrings I’m so in love with are also in this shade. The earrings (see them on me here) are also really amazing Rebecca de Ravenel dupes! Get the look for less here.

Bride Or Feminine Fashion

I was so inspired by the gorgeous white dogwood blooms outside my house to create this whimsical feminine white look. My wardrobe was filled with white pieces last year while I was embracing my bride-to-be status. Whether you’re a bride-to-be or not, white in spring is always in.

Ultra Feminine Look

This look totally embodies my motto of fearless, feminine, fashion. I love an outfit that has a theme, with this one being all things white & floral. This feminine lace dress in the sweetest floral pattern creates the most classic silhouette. A shape like this is a great thing to look out for when shopping for classic pieces you’ll wear year after year. The high neck, cute short sleeves, & dress length just below the knee, is a look that will never go out of style.

As far as accessories go, I think these white flower earrings might be my favorite earrings of all time. They go with everything & perfectly complete every look. My shoes for this look are these gorgeous white lace ballet flats I purchased on my girl’s trip to Charleston at H&M. These are super affordable & the perfect spring flat shoes to throw on with any outfit. The white daisy crossbody I’m wearing is definitely a crowd pleaser. It looks quite expensive, like it could be a designer bag, but I purchased it for less than $20! Lastly, I added this vintage looking parasol to add a bit of whimsy to this shoot.
