Wow, I can’t believe it’s already April! Since it’s finally starting to feel like spring, I’m here to chat with you guys about a big trend this spring/summer: The Co Ord Trend. This trend comes in a variety of shapes & styles making it so easy to find one that works for you. Let me tell you my thoughts on this trend & show you my favorite pieces on the market now.
My Way To Wear This Trend
I feel like you either love or hate this trend. Like, it could be a jumpsuit…or a dress…but it’s cut in half & shows a little skin? Idk, I’m really loving it right now, but I’m picky about which styles I prefer. Finding the right co ord for me means finding a tasteful & feminine silhouette while still displaying that fun & flirty side. I love this set I found while on my daily ASOS scroll. The blue & white stripes are so my style & I’m obsessed with the tie details on the sleeves as well as around the waist. I find pieces that cinch in at the waist like this to be extremely flattering. This co ord trend piece fits perfectly into my feminine wardrobe because even though it shows a little bit of skin, it’s loose silhouette keeps things fun & tasteful.
This is such a wearable set, & perfect for your spring/summer wardrobe. It’s great for a date night out, drinks with your girlfriends, shopping at your local farmers market, & it’s light enough to bring on a beach holiday. To shop this look, click here or the images below!

So what do you think? Do you love or hate this trend?
Will you be rocking one of these pieces this spring/summer? xx
Sometimes sticking to the basics can be a good thing. With the start of the new year & a new season approaching, you might be finding yourself, as I am, in need of a little boost. I’ve put together a few tips & ideas on how to un-basic your wardrobe that just might give you the boost you need.
It’s dress up time!
Do you tend to gravitate towards the same handful of “safe” outfits in your wardrobe? It’s time to mix things up. Pop some bubbly. Invite a friend over that you actually trust for fashion advice & get to it! What is it about those “safe” outfits that you love? Do they bring you joy? Confidence? Let’s try to find those same things you love about that outfit in a new one.
Try mixing stripes or gingham with florals this season. If this seems like a scary task, read my Print Mixing For Beginners post, or check out Adorn Yourself Accordingly for some major inspo! I also have a Pinterest board dedicated to print mixing outfit inspiration you can check out here.
Add a red lip to one of your go-to looks
Throw on that go-to outfit that you love & feel good in, then add a pop of color to your lips! What a fun & simple way to shake things up. My fav red lipsticks are Milani Matte Iconic & Marc Jacobs So Rouge.
Pair with some unexpected shoes
Add a heel to a casual look, or a pop of color to a more neutral outfit. It’s easy to stick to the basics when it comes to shoes, but I find statement shoes (even a pair or embellished or fancy flats) can really take an outfit to the next level.
Style your hair differently.
This can be as simple as parting your hair in a different place! I love playing with a deep side part, to a normal side part, to an almost middle part. Such an easy way to mix it up. Or, with spring & summer on the horizon, if you tend to “fix” your hair everyday, go for a more natural look every once in a while. Find ways to improve your ponytail like with invisibobbles, bows, or scarves. These subtle changes make a huge difference in the long run.
What to invest in this season
A classic trench coat has been the best investment piece I’ve ever owned. I literally wear mine in every season, but it gets the most wear during the spring. Florals look amazing underneath a piece like this. (& you know that’s all I am wanting to wear right now!) It’s that perfect item that looks so smart when layered over literally any outfit. A classic piece everyone should own. There are also versions out there that help you make a wardrobe basic, un-basic. Look for one in a different color like pink, white, or blue, or find one with just a little more detail or flare to give it an extra edge.
One of my favorite ways to really make an outfit pop is with statement earrings. These are EVERYWHERE right now, so they shouldn’t be hard to get your hands on a pair or four. Pairs catching my eye recently are typically ones with big structured flowers. I mean what’s not to love, am I right?!
All I am wanting to wear on my feet right now are embroidered shoes. I even have a pair that I’m potentially wearing for my wedding reception shoes (sneak peek here). Needless to say, I love them. They are big right now, & a brilliant way to un-basic your day-to-day outfits.
Straw bags are trending again this spring summer (yay!), & are a great way to add texture to your #ootd. They come in all different shapes, styles, colors, & price points, making it easy to find the one that works for you. If you don’t already have one, this item is a spring/summer must-have.

Ever since we booked our honeymoon for this summer (in Positano & Naples!!!), I have been craving some warm weather & serious vacation time. Whether you have some amazing spring getaway plans (if you do, please tell me where you are going & let me live vicariously through you!), or, like me, are dreaming of summer & travel & vacations, etc., shop my getaway wishlist below.
Since I know I’m going to Italy in July, here are some of the other places I’d love to visit right about now:
*confession*: I’ve already purchased a few of these things for the honeymoon! These adorable lemon shoes just screamed Positano, & they are so comfortable. I had to buy this gorgeous one piece. It’s just so flattering! For accessories, I’ve started with a classic straw hat & a pineapple scarf. More to come I’m sure! Spring Getaway Dreaming: The Wishlist
You wanting a little getaway too? Where would you go? xx
I asked you guys in an Instagram stories poll if you would like to see some wedding posts here on F&F before the big day, & 100% who voted said yes! So here we are, starting a new series rightfully called: Wedding Wednesday. With our special day quickly approaching (less than 150 days!), I am working on getting organized & staying on track with the budget & the timeline. I have dreamed about planning my wedding for as long as I can remember, & now that it’s here…I’m finding that it requires a lot of organization. That right there is not really my forte, but I’ve found that with the proper tools, wedding planning can be fun & stress-free.
I am very picky about planners. I tend to just write all over the pages instead of following their prompts because I feel like I need something different. As my search began for a wedding planner, I felt very unsatisfied by the selection I was seeing. Therefore, when I was contacted by Kayla aka The Internet’s Maid of Honor to try out her system of planning, I was delighted to give it a try. She made this planner after she got married because she felt the same dissatisfaction as I did, so I hoped this would be just what I needed.
Guys. it’s perfect! Not only is it so helpful & well thought out, but it’s beautifully laid out on page after page in such a way that I know I will love looking back on it even after the wedding! It’s such a great tool to help keep me on track with deadlines & to know what comes next. Also, it let’s you dream & document your inspiration process which is oh-so important to me.
Let me show you how I use it…

Instead of binding my pages like a book, I chose to keep them in a clip-folio. It’s a clipboard on the front, where I display current to-dos & inspo, as well as a pocket for my other pages & notepad on the inside. I’ve loved this setup. It’s easy to use & beautifully displays everything.
The entire planner is over 200 pages long! Which is amazing! One of the best things about this planner is that you are able to pick & choose which page you really want to use & order them in a way that makes sense to you. It’s printable, so if you need multiple of any particular sheet, you are able to have as many as you need! For example, there are wellness sheets that help you track your food, fitness, water intake, etc., that I have printed out specifically for the week of the wedding to ensure I’m taking care of myself during the preparations. But, if you wanted them for the duration of your engagement, you could use them daily or weekly or as a goals sheet monthly.
There are lots of blank sheets with headlines for inspo in a variety of categories. On these pages, instead of writing or drawing my thoughts, I decided to cut out inspiring photos from all the magazines I’ve been flipping through over the past few months & create mood boards, if you will, for each category. Not only is it so fun to do, but it’s so nice to have visuals right there in front of you while you’re planning.

Print mixing is an art filled with creativity, imagination, & just plain guts. It’s quite difficult to know at times whether different prints or textures play well together or not. I’m not going to pretend that I am an expert on this topic, but I wanted to share with you some of the things I have learned over the past few years about mixing prints. Maybe you will also like to go on this styling journey with me? We can start as beginners today…& soon become pros…? *fingers crossed*
First of all, in order to style & mix prints, you must own some. Prints can be quite a scary thing to buy because in the back of your mind, there is that fear that, “It won’t match other things”, or “It won’t get enough wear time to be worth the money”. Trust me, I’ve been there. I’ve also been all the way on the other side of the spectrum where all I did was buy prints…the bolder the better! Now that’s a difficult wardrobe to own. I think it’s best to find some middle ground (& impulse control), & find both prints & non-prints that can fit in your wardrobe seamlessly.
As a beginning print mixer, stripes, florals, & polka dots are where we begin. And with spring just around the corner, what perfect prints to add to your wardrobe (if you don’t have them already!). These prints, for the most part, play well together. The trick is pairing the right size & the right color. As far as size goes, a safe bet is pairing a small print with a large print. In the outfit I’ve styled for this post, I chose a very small printed striped top & paired it with a large floral print skirt. I also could have chosen a bigger striped print top with a small floral print skirt, or a floral top with a striped skirt for that matter.
– Style tip –
Mix a large print with a small print for easy success.
The next big task: color. Now, you all know your wardrobe & what colors you wear the most. For me, I tend to wear mostly pinks & blues. Sure I have other colors in my wardrobe (thanks to last year’s fashion goals), but while shopping, it’s good to know what color palette I wear the most. It’s easier to integrate prints & patterns that have similar colors to clothes you already own. If the color thing still seems scary, neutral is always a good route to go.
– Style tip –
Neutrals are always winners
In this outfit, you remember, I mixed a white top with tiny light pink stripes with a bold green floral skirt. The bright green seems a bit scary & way too colorful for my comfort zone, but the reason it fits in my wardrobe is because of the shades of pink in the flowers. I knew I had enough white & pink shirts that I could pair with this, & it’s bold print was just the styling challenge I was looking for. A classic denim jacket it the perfect neutral jacket to pair with a bold print. A must have in your spring wardrobe.
– Style tip –
Know what colors you wear most. Sticking to patterns in this color palette is a sure fire way to have mixing success.

The weather is slowing starting to warm up here in Richmond, & florals seem to be the only things I am in the mood to wear. I put this outfit together, & fell in love with it’s effortless, feminine look. The bow details, pops of floral, & the overall silhouette of this look give me the feeling of springs mornings in a coffee shop.
Looking forward & wishing for spring, pops of florals are a must in my wardrobe. Whether it’s a fun top like this one, a floral dress, or a hint of florals on my shoes or handbag, having fun & feminine pieces in my wardrobe make a big impact when putting together spring outfits.
Florals become an easy addition to your wardrobe when you have the right neutrals to pair them with. A neutral, everyday skirt (not an evening skirt), is a key item you will want to have this spring. Also, adding a navy cropped blazer to your wardrobe like this very affordable one (seen here), can really help bring a whole outfit together. It can easily be thrown over almost any floral top or dress & adds a bit of structure to a flowy, floral look.
