I can’t wait to share with you guys all the amazing things we are doing here, but until then, I have another exciting tidbit to share:
My NYC Vlog!
This video was taken during the last two days of my trip. My friend, Eri, and I stayed in the cutest little Airbnb (right next to the original Shake Shack I might add) and ventured all over the city. In this video, you’ll see bits of our blowouts at DryBar, shopping in SoHo (including a visit to the Glossier Showroom), music and dancing in Washington Square Park, our evening at the Metropolitan Opera House to see ABT perform, tea time at Alice’s Tea Cup, meandering through Central Park, and finally seeing the Brooklyn Bridge for the first time.
I hope you guys are enjoying these vlogs. Let me know in the comments below if you want to see more.
After you watch this video (and give it a thumbs up *wink*), shop some new finds in this week’s Lust List!
It’s about time I put up a new lust list, isn’t it? Summer is here & with a new season comes the need for some new additions to my wardrobe. As you will see below, I am having a moment with a few trends including bows, bardot, gingham, ruffles, red, & embroidery. You know I have been obsessing over my gold bow mules (seen here & here) & this pair in black might simply have to be mine. As I mentioned in my last post, Kate has been totally making me feel like adding some red to my summer wardrobe is something I desperately need to do, & I’m totally into these adorable pieces below. These embroidered mom jeans are right up my alley & a must-have for summer. I’m slowly building my collection of cute pajama sets, & it’s about time for another.

Funny story: I lived in the City for two years & have visited it frequently before & after the fact, & just recently I found out what SoHo means! It wasn’t until my parents were there with me to watch me perform, that my dad told me what it means. For any of you who also don’t know what it means, SoHo means “South of Houston St.” You’re welcome. 😉
So while we were meandering through SoHo, we came across this gorgeous courtyard & restaurant in the NoMo SoHo Hotel. It seemed like the perfect place for shooting my #OOTD. We were on a shopping mission or else we would have stayed to eat and grab a drink here, but now it’s in the books that I have to come back here next time I’m in the City. I love that their aesthetic vision is “an intersection of nostalgia & modern” (hints the name NoMo). The juxtaposition between the lit greenery arches & the graffiti brick wall is so pleasing & picturesque.
Kate, of Kate La Vie, has really encouraged me through her latest posts (such as this one) to incorporate more red into my wardrobe. It’s hard to tell in the photos because my shirt looks pink, but in reality, the stripes are red and white. This shirt was quite a step out for me, but I really love how it looks on. I even bought one more red and white top while I was in the City that I absolutely adore, but you’ll have to wait a bit to see that one (Paris…).
Do you wear red often? If so, how do you incorporate it into your wardrobe?
More Red & White Tops I’m Loving:
Thank you for reading and supporting Felix & Flora! xx
I’ve been looking through my pictures from New York, & found one common thread throughout…my trench coat. It has been unusually chilly in the City this month, and I definitely underestimated the chill factor while packing & planning my outfits. Luckily, I packed this gem! My trench coat literally saved me on my trip. I figured it deserved an appreciation post.
The beauty of a trench coat is that not only does it provide warmth, but it’s quite lightweight making it easy to just throw on. It’s the perfect coat to travel with because once the sun does finally decide to show up, it’s not a hassle to carry around. I also love the statement it makes. It completes any outfit, while giving the effect of confidence & being quite put together. Major quintessential New York woman vibes.
While I was in the City, I wore it unbuttoned most of the time (as you can see in the photos). It wore beautifully as a layering piece & looks amazing when caught in the wind.
I decided to challenge myself to take better care of my clothing and accessories. More often than I’d like to admit my room looks like the picture below. Totally not ok. I have spent my hard earned money on these beautiful garments I clothe myself in every single day, & they end up on the floor in a pile. Disgusting. I knew it was time to make a change, & I recruited a few items to help me out.
My sweaters desperately needed a facelift. They were starting to pill & were undoubtably covered with the hair from our two cats & dog (as you can see^^^). Using the sweater shaver & lint roller, unveiled new & refreshed sweaters ready to get me through the chilly nights of spring.
I purchased this inexpensive garment rack to display items I’m particularly inspired by, outfits I’ve already prepared for events, or, in this case, travel outfit planning. There is something so satisfying about putting beauty on display, & this certainly does the trick. It’s a helpful reminder that these pieces are meant to be worn & treasured.
I haven’t finished yet, but my goal is to go through & steam every article of clothing so they are ready to wear at a moment’s notice. That means no more piles. No more being unable to wear something because it’s now wrinkled from sitting on the floor. & from now on, shoes go from the rack, to my feet, & then directly back to the rack! Why is this so hard?!
The last change I made was emptying out ALL of my purses. Now I know where all of my bobby pins have been hiding! No more just throwing random crap into my nice purses, & when I want to change purses, I must TAKE EVERYTHING OUT. No more losing a favorite lipstick only to find it in the purse I was wearing the week before.
Do you do these things too?
What kind of things do you do to show your clothes some extra love? xx
