My Coat Collection

My Coat Collection

Hello Everyone!

I have always loved coats, & I have always wanted a nice coat collection. You know what started it for me? The Devil Wears Prada. This clip of Andy walking in Manhattan & suddenly appearing in a completely different outfit with another completely stunning coat on, really stuck with me! Meanwhile, when I was living in NYC, I had a big black puffy coat that I wore on the daily, which made me look like I was wearing the same outfit everyday. I knew that someday, I wanted to own a collection with a variety of colors, textures, & silhouettes. Since then, I’ve been slowly adding to my wardrobe, & I am so in love with the pieces I’ve found over the years. I’m still really wanting to add a white, a navy, & a leopard print one to my collection…but that will come in time.

Coats can be expensive. Let me guide you through different price points for every budget to help expand your coat collection this season!

My Coat Collection

Classic Black Coat

You guys, I found this Guess coat at Goodwill for $20! I have found so many amazing things at my local Goodwill, it just takes some digging. Also, I’ve found that after the holidays, around the start of the new year, is the best time to look for coats. I love having this big black wool coat in my collection. It has a wrap around front & gold buttons that are to die for. This piece is a classic, timeless staple, & you probably already have one like it in your closet. But incase you don’t, here are a few of my favorites out there now!

My Coat Collection

Fuzzy Coat

This kind of coat might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s one of my very favorites! It’s a short coat, & looks gorgeous with skirts or dresses. Not only is it beautiful dressed up, but it works wonders with a casual outfit! Throw on your favorites jeans & almost any top, then throw a fuzzy coat like this over top, & your outfit is complete! I recommend this kind of coat to be added to your wardrobe if you are interested in living your coziest life possible. 🙂 Check out all the dreamy options below! Almost all of them are under $50!

My Coat Collection

Pink Coat

I purchased this lovely pink coat last season, & it is just so me. The shade of pink is so wearable & it has just the right amount of structure, making it both formal & casual. I was totally enamored by Julia’s pink coat, that when I saw this one, it was love at first sight. It was instantly added to my coat collection.

Whether you use it as a pop of color, or a neutral to go with everything, a pink coat does wonders for your wardrobe. And pink is totally a festive Christmas color right?!…

My Coat Collection

Cape Coat

This coat is the newest in my collection. I love the fall tones & the subtle plaid thrown into it. What I love most about it though, is the silhouette it creates. It’s sleek & longline & actually has a little padding in the shoulders to add structure. This beauty is quite warm & perfect for wrapping up in like a blanket. (Fun fact: this coat looks JUST like Uncle Drosselmeyer’s cape in our Nutcracker! haha)

My Coat Collection

Trench Coat

The best part about owning a trench coat, is that it can literally be worn all year long! I wore it all over NYC last May (see here), & I also wore it to Thanksgiving last week. It’s so versatile & totally worth the investment this year. I found mine for under $100, so it doesn’t even have to break the bank. This piece is timeless & completes any look with ease. Styling A Cream Sweater

Styling A Cream Sweater

Hello Everyone!

I’ve been taking inventory on my wardrobe recently, & in doing so, I’ve discovered a few things about myself. First off, I love statement pieces. Patterns, details, & varying silhouettes clearly speak to me. Secondly, I’m very proud of the new colors I’ve added to my wardrobe over the past 6 months like green, yellow, & red. Lastly, I own so many cream sweaters. Honestly, I’m not even saying that’s a bad thing. A cream sweater is a great fall/winter staple in my wardrobe.

I want to share with you a few of my favorite cream sweaters in my collection & ways I love to style them.

Styling A Cream Sweater

To go to the pumpkin patch, I chose an old favorite from last season (similar here). I simply combined it with a good old pair of trusty Madewell jeans & a classic fall boot. To spice it up a little bit, I added a simple scarf tied around my neck (one of my favorite things to do these days) & statement crossbody I just got for my birthday.

This simple outfit (the cream sweater & blue jeans) can be easily transformed into a completely new look. Maybe I want to add a vest, or I could switch out the ankle boots for a pair of my favorite over the knee boots. Or I could dress it up a little bit with my blue velvet booties, my new camel coat (last seen here), & a faux fur scarf. The possibilities are endless, even without changing the very core of this outfit.

Another way I love to wear a cream sweater is to pair with LITERALLY any skirt. Honestly, find me a skirt a cream sweater doesn’t go with…there isn’t one. Below are some outfits I adore:

Featured Outfits

A cream sweater with a metallic pleated midi skirt, my leopard heels, & my beloved trench coat.

This cream sweater with a leather mini skirt, a long silk scarf, & my leather loafer mules. (see the look here)

A cream sweater with a patterned, floral mini skirt, my favorite ballerinas (on major sale btw), with a solid colored structured bag.

This cream sweater with a velvet midi skirt, a patterned/check coat, & pair of my favorite heels.

A cream sweater with a tweed mini skirt, a blazer, & a pair of pointed toe flats.

These are just a few ways to pair a cream sweater with a skirt & be ready for any occasion. Needless to say, this staple is crucial to my wardrobe, & yours too! I recommend starting a collection of nice, “statement” cream sweaters to help put together your fall/winter wardrobe. I recently purchased this one, which I can’t wait to wear during the holiday season. The detailed sleeves on this one help dress up an outfit, giving it a little more edge. It’s important to have both a patterned/cable sweater as well as a clean, simplistic option as well. Give yourself options to feel good about when choosing your outfit each day.

Styling A Cream Sweater

I think the thing I love most about cream sweaters is that no matter your “brand” or style or color palette, a cream sweater seamlessly fits into any clothing collection.

What is your favorite way to wear a cream sweater?

How To Find Quality Pieces At Affordable Prices

Puffy vest & dahlias

Hello Everyone!

It’s about time for another Instagram Outfits update!

I have really been embracing fall tones this past month, hoping that the weather will change with me. The leaves are starting to change around here, getting me all excited to break out my chunky sweaters & boots. But until then, I’m embracing the colors & textures of fall in the lightest way possible.

I’m really into the look of mini skirts with long sleeves or sweaters. The bare legs gives a really cool vibe while the sleeves provide the warmth on top.

I have also been loving this burgundy bag, as you can see. It just goes with everything! This crossbody is the perfect size because it’s small, but still big enough to fit everything I need in it. (& more…you know what I mean if you’ve seen my Instagram stories lately…lol)

The Wrap Dress

*Major sale on dress worn above^*

Hello Everyone!

Today’s Dress Week post is dedicated to the beloved wrap dress. (Catch up here & here.) When I think of a wrap dress, my mind immediately goes to DVF & her icon wrap dresses. There is something so classic & elegant about a wrap dress. The shape it creates on a woman is so flattering, it has no choice but to empower women. No wonder I feel all the Parisian vibes while wearing one. It’s the, “I just threw this on” look, while also, “I look good & I know it.”

Basically this silhouette is magic. No wonder I have literally been living in them recently.

The possibilities are endless when it comes to wrap dresses! They are everywhere right now. Coming in a variety of forms, you can find one that suits you best. Stock up on a few casual ones like this one or this one  for those day when you don’t want to fuss with an outfit, but you need a good one. Purchase a fancier option for your next date night, or invest in the OG of wrap dresses. (This one is giving me all the DVF vibes at a fraction of the cost!)

I’ve rounded up a few of my favorites down below. I already own a few of them…but I’m dying for the rest of them to find a home in my wardrobe! Maybe they can find a home in yours? xx

Stay tuned for more fall dresses all week long! xx

The Sweater Dress

Hello Everyone!

And Dress Week continues!…

Today’s post is all about the staple sweater dress every woman needs in her wardrobe. They feel so warm & cozy on, & can easily transition from day to night with a little lipstick & a pair of heels. Whether it has sleeves or it’s sleeveless, tight fitting or oversized, your sweater dress is sure to be a most worn item of the season.

To choose your perfect sweater dress, think about your wardrobe: Do you stick with more neutrals? Try a neutral option that will go with everything. Does your closet contain mostly soft, feminine pieces? Look for one with delicate details like this. Do you prefer a more timeless, classic feel? Try one like this that’s sure to never go out of style.

Sweater dresses are perfect transition pieces. Wear them with bare legs now, then add tights or over the knee boots & a coat once the weather starts to get cold. If you already own one, I know you’re already in love, but if you’re still searching for the perfect piece, maybe one of these will do:
