Crop tops have been everywhere this summer, & while I do have my fair share of them, sometimes it’s difficult to find ones that will fit seamlessly in my wardrobe. I like my tops to give a very flattering silhouette as well as have the right amount of texture & detail to them to make them special. Bows, ruffles, & buttons are a few things I always gravitate towards when looking for a new top. This lovely number has both ruffles & a bow in the back, so finding it’s way into my wardrobe was a no brainer.
I chose to wear this feminine gingham crop top with a gorgeous floral embroidered, high-waisted skirt. Crop tops & anything high waisted are just a match made in heaven. That way, even though you are wearing something cropped on top, something high-waisted on the bottom ensures the look stays looking very classic & feminine & not too revealing. I originally bought this skirt to potentially wear to one of my bridal showers, but ended up wearing other things instead, so I’m finally starting to style it for my everyday life. I’m totally loving it’s shape & the sweet floral details. I love how these two pieces look together.
Simple ballerinas like the ones I’m wearing here are my go-to, everyday shoe. They are a classic staple in my wardrobe & I wear them in every season. I also brought back my favorite spring straw bag from this year, which just goes with this look so seamlessly. My pink, quirky sunglasses are the final detail that really completes my feminine look.

I’ve worn this outfit twice recently because I’ve loved it so much! First I wore it to lunch with a friend, then I wore it to a house-warming party. Even though this skirt could easily lean on the dressy side, paired with this crop top & my simple ballerinas, it’s perfect for an everyday look. I also wore this top with a very different skirt on my honeymoon to the Amalfi Coast which you can see here.

On our first full day in Italy, we decided to venture over to Capri. We woke up early to catch a ferry over from Napoli (see about our stay in Naples here), which was filled with a few hundred people. The ferry ride was just under an hour, & our view out the window was incredible. This was my first time out in the Mediterranean Sea, & boy was it just breath-taking!
Once we made it to the lovely island of Capri, we started exploring. Of course, knowing us, we decided to walk up a small but stunning alleyway that led up the mountain instead of following the crowds of people. Let me tell you, there were a LOT of stairs, but seeing all of the cute homes & overgrown trees & bushes was so worth it.
One tip I will give to anyone wanting to visit Capri: go early! There were barely any people when we got there compared to the middle of the day. See the best sights before the crowds come!

After climbing up the stairs for about 45 minutes, we found the most idyllic spot for lunch called Al Caprí. The view from our climb was incredible & the food was some of the best we had on our trip. I ordered the gnocchi, & Ben had a pizza. We also had our first taste of the iconic limoncello, which I will say is quite strong, but great for sipping slowly.

After our delicious meal, we decided to take the funiculare down the mountain. (You can take it up as well, but if you can, the walk is totally worth it!) Then it was time for our boat tour. Neither Ben nor I particularly care for tours, we like to venture on our own, but I will say that this tour (Laser Capri) was really wonderful. It was cool to ride a boat all the way around this amazing island. The rocks & caves & cliffs were literally jaw-dropping. I had never seen anything like this in real life before.
A fun fact about Italian culture: The reason why I don’t have more photos of our boat tour is because I was kind of in a bad mood due to getting my feelings hurt by the others on our tour. Part of being an Italian (or so we found) was pushing your way through to get yours regardless of lines or others around you. They weren’t angry, or being rude, at least in their minds, but it just did not sit well with me. But don’t worry, we quickly learned from them & started following their lead towards the end of our trip.

Yep, you heard that right! Ben & I rented our own boat to ride around the island just the two of us. He drove while I sat in the sun & enjoyed the ride.
Well kind of…
The waters happened to be quite choppy that day, which made me feel not so well. We decided to find a spot to anchor, because I thought just getting off the boat & swimming a bit would make it go away. So we did, & we swam for a bit & took turns jumping off the boat which was so much fun. Also a bit challenging with the waves, though.
We finished our two hours on the water & headed back to shore.

Once back on land, I found a shady spot to sit down for a bit. After my brain wrapped around the fact that I wasn’t on the water anymore, we walked right next door to a little bar right on the water. This spot was a prime people watching spot. We sat here for the next hour or two just watching the locals vs. the tourists. The real cure for my seasickness, I’m sure, was the French fries & gelato with plenty of water followed by a limoncello. 🙂

Sometimes, the best moments shared with someone are not the big exciting spectacle of moments, but those small moments sitting by the water just talking & soaking in a day of incredible experiences together. We had a magical time together in the beautiful Capri, but the best part was that we were together. Through it all. Together. Hey, in (sea)sickness & in health, right?!
We took the ferry back to Napoli & Ben fell asleep while I edited photos. It was a very long day full of so many firsts & new experiences. I honestly feel like I grew a lot that day & Ben & I grew as it was our first day on vacation just the two of us. We work so well together & he is so good for me. Clearing any bits of anxiety in me with just a glance. Feeling very thankful I get to keep him as my husband forever.
After Capri, we spent a day & a half in Napoli before heading to Positano! Post on that coming soon!
Hope you guys enjoyed this post! Let me know if you have any questions on the exact places we visited or things we did. I’m happy to answer anything!

I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect spring/summer shoe that can work with both casual, everyday outfits, as well as dressed up, evening outfits. These adorable white espadrilles tick every box! I’ve always loved the look of nice espadrilles, but I found that the more affordable pairs didn’t fit the same. Either they were uncomfortable, or the shape of the toe was too round & unflattering. Then I found the perfect pair for only $45! They look just like this pair by Castaner that are $130! They have the same shape, colors, & perfect capped toe. I find these shoes to be so flattering & I love the tie detail around the ankle. So sweet!
This outfit was another print mixing challenge of mine. I’m having so much fun exploring how I can mix & match different pieces in my wardrobe together. Find my print mixing tips here & my mixing stripes on stripes here.

I cannot stop wearing my espadrilles. They just go with everything! A total must-have for my wardrobe. I also have this adorable lemon pair in my collection getting me excited about traveling to Positano!

Aren’t these blue & white bistro chairs so dreamy?! I want to find some for my home someday.
Hope you guys enjoyed this post! Have a lovely day! xx
Do you ever look at someone & just notice a radiance about them? Their eyes are bright, cheekbones are glistening, & all while not looking greasy or artificial. They just glow. I want that look too! So along with drinking extra water, I’ve been trying to recreate that look, lately, with a few of my very favorite makeup products & it’s my new obsession. I mean, who doesn’t love that “glow from within” look?
How I Get The “Glow From Within” Look
To get this look, I truly believe Hourglass does it best. They just get it so right time and time again. Their products give my face all the glow with no unwanted shine or grease. Lately, I’ve exclusively used their powders on my face. They last all day & transform my skin in a way no other product has done before.
I can’t help but use this palette every single day. Whether I’m going full glam, or for a more minimal look, it’s safe to say that I used this palette in some way, shape, or form. Nothing lights up my face like this little gem does. My favorite way to use this product is after I’ve applied my foundation or tinted moisturizer & my concealer. I take a natural haired tapered brush, mix the two lighter shades together & apply them to the center of my face. Lately, I’ve also been using the darkest shade as a pre-bronzer. I apply this on the perimeter of my face. The finish of these powders on the face is absolutely flawless.
This is my most recent Hourglass purchase, & it’s just perfect for summer. It builds beautifully for a natural looking golden goddess effect. This bronzer does have a sheen, but any shimmer seen is so soft & lovely. It’s never choppy or patchy. My favorite shade in this range is the Luminous Bronze Light.
It seems only natural to finish off my face with an Hourglass blush! I own a blush palette that was unfortunately limited edition, but all of their colors are gorgeous. The same rave reviews apply to these lovelies: long-lasting, perfect pigmentation, & all the right kind of glow. My two favorite shades are Luminous Flush & Mood Exposure.
Are you loving this glowing skin look as much as I am?
Sometimes sticking to the basics can be a good thing. With the start of the new year & a new season approaching, you might be finding yourself, as I am, in need of a little boost. I’ve put together a few tips & ideas on how to un-basic your wardrobe that just might give you the boost you need.
It’s dress up time!
Do you tend to gravitate towards the same handful of “safe” outfits in your wardrobe? It’s time to mix things up. Pop some bubbly. Invite a friend over that you actually trust for fashion advice & get to it! What is it about those “safe” outfits that you love? Do they bring you joy? Confidence? Let’s try to find those same things you love about that outfit in a new one.
Try mixing stripes or gingham with florals this season. If this seems like a scary task, read my Print Mixing For Beginners post, or check out Adorn Yourself Accordingly for some major inspo! I also have a Pinterest board dedicated to print mixing outfit inspiration you can check out here.
Add a red lip to one of your go-to looks
Throw on that go-to outfit that you love & feel good in, then add a pop of color to your lips! What a fun & simple way to shake things up. My fav red lipsticks are Milani Matte Iconic & Marc Jacobs So Rouge.
Pair with some unexpected shoes
Add a heel to a casual look, or a pop of color to a more neutral outfit. It’s easy to stick to the basics when it comes to shoes, but I find statement shoes (even a pair or embellished or fancy flats) can really take an outfit to the next level.
Style your hair differently.
This can be as simple as parting your hair in a different place! I love playing with a deep side part, to a normal side part, to an almost middle part. Such an easy way to mix it up. Or, with spring & summer on the horizon, if you tend to “fix” your hair everyday, go for a more natural look every once in a while. Find ways to improve your ponytail like with invisibobbles, bows, or scarves. These subtle changes make a huge difference in the long run.
What to invest in this season
A classic trench coat has been the best investment piece I’ve ever owned. I literally wear mine in every season, but it gets the most wear during the spring. Florals look amazing underneath a piece like this. (& you know that’s all I am wanting to wear right now!) It’s that perfect item that looks so smart when layered over literally any outfit. A classic piece everyone should own. There are also versions out there that help you make a wardrobe basic, un-basic. Look for one in a different color like pink, white, or blue, or find one with just a little more detail or flare to give it an extra edge.
One of my favorite ways to really make an outfit pop is with statement earrings. These are EVERYWHERE right now, so they shouldn’t be hard to get your hands on a pair or four. Pairs catching my eye recently are typically ones with big structured flowers. I mean what’s not to love, am I right?!
All I am wanting to wear on my feet right now are embroidered shoes. I even have a pair that I’m potentially wearing for my wedding reception shoes (sneak peek here). Needless to say, I love them. They are big right now, & a brilliant way to un-basic your day-to-day outfits.
Straw bags are trending again this spring summer (yay!), & are a great way to add texture to your #ootd. They come in all different shapes, styles, colors, & price points, making it easy to find the one that works for you. If you don’t already have one, this item is a spring/summer must-have.
The un-basic, basics your wardrobe needs:
What are your favorite ways to make an outfit pop? Planning on trying any of these ways to un-basic your wardrobe? xx
I had such an amazing summer of travel as well as spending some much needed time with family; however, I was not expecting to be gone from the blog for so long. After taking some much needed time to refresh and gather some inspiration, I am back, & so ready to get back to blogging every week! I’m very excited to share with you some things I have been working on while I’ve been gone.
Today, I wanted to share with you some of the looks I’ve been posting on Instagram lately.
